Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Teacher Centered Learning approach on the mathematics learning outcomes of third-grade students at SDN 3 Balaesang Tanjung. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects of this study were 14 third-grade students of SDN 3 Balaesang Tanjung. The data collection techniques used in this research were observation, interviews, and documentation. The students’ learning outcome data were obtained from mathematics evaluation scores and analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis by comparing students’ scores with the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) set at 75. The results showed that out of 14 students, 9 students achieved learning mastery while 5 students did not achieve mastery. The percentage of students who achieved learning mastery was 64%, while 36% of students had not yet achieved mastery. These results indicate that the Teacher Centered Learning approach can help students understand mathematics learning materials, although there are still several students who have not achieved learning mastery.

Abstract

Student participation in the learning process is one of the important indicators in determining the success of learning in elementary schools. Low student participation can hinder the achievement of learning objectives optimally; therefore, appropriate strategies are needed to increase student involvement. One approach that can be applied is the implementation of reward and punishment based on behaviorism theory. This study aims to analyze the effect of reward and punishment on student participation in Grade II at SD Inpres 1 Tondo. This research used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires and documentation, while data analysis used percentage calculations to determine the tendency of student responses. The results showed that rewards received a positive response of 80%, which is categorized as very good, while punishment obtained a percentage of 55%, which is categorized as fairly good. This indicates that rewards have a more dominant influence in increasing student participation compared to punishment. Thus, the proper and proportional implementation of reward and punishment can improve students’ motivation and activeness in learning activities.

Abstract

Mathematics is often perceived as a complex subject by elementary school students, which affects their motivation and learning achievement. This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by teachers to change this perception through adaptive and contextual learning approaches. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design involving teachers and students at an elementary school. Data were collected through observations, in depth interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that effective strategies include the use of concrete media, the implementation of game-based learning, and the application of contextual approaches that relate the material to students’ daily lives. In addition, positive reinforcement and the creation of a conducive learning environment contribute to increasing students’ confidence in mathematics. Changes in perception are reflected in increased active participation and more positive attitudes among students during the learning process. The discussion highlights that the perception of mathematics as a difficult subject is not only caused by the complexity of the material but also by less varied teaching approaches. Therefore, pedagogical innovation that is responsive to students’ characteristics is needed. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of teachers’ pedagogical competence in creating enjoyable and meaningful learning experiences to reduce the negative stigma toward mathematics from an early age.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a legal and moral obligation for companies operating in the natural resource sector in Indonesia, as mandated by Law Number 40 of 2007 on Limited Liability Companies and Government Regulation Number 47 of 2012. This study aims to analyze the implementation of CSR programs by PT Astra Agro Lestari in Martajaya Village, Pasangkayu Regency, West Sulawesi. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through interviews and direct observation involving company representatives, local government officials, and community beneficiaries. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman (1994), encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that PT Astra Agro Lestari implements CSR through four main pillars: Astra Cerdas (education), Astra Sehat (health), Astra Kreatif (economy), and Astra Hijau (environment), across six assisted villages including Martajaya. The programs are designed through a participatory consultative approach, ensuring community involvement from planning to evaluation. Overall, the CSR implementation has provided tangible benefits to the local community and contributed to strengthening the harmonious relationship between the company and the surrounding population. However, continuous monitoring and adaptive evaluation are needed to ensure the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of these programs.
