Abstract

Technological disruption in the Society 5.0 era has triggered a shift in religious authority to virtual spaces and created a significant gap within the conventional curriculum of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Study Program, which remains rigid and lacks technology integration. Employing a qualitative literature review approach with content analysis, this study elaborates on macro-policy reconstruction strategies for the PAI curriculum based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and blended learning. This reconstruction integrates pure Islamic sciences (ulûm al-dîn) with data literacy, technology, and contemporary science without diminishing fundamental religious subjects. This transformative-digital curriculum reorients the philosophical direction of graduates, enabling them to adaptively serve as Islamic education content creators, cyber counselors, and pioneers of religious moderation in the digital sphere. The synergy between updating formal technological aspects and internalizing Islamic spiritual values (core values) serves as the primary key to producing PAI graduates who are competent, competitive, and highly principled in the global era.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the regulatory framework and implementation of technology-based Islamic Religious Education (IRE) policies in madrasahs and schools in Indonesia. A qualitative approach with a normative–empirical design is employed to analyze policy documents, educational regulations, and relevant scholarly literature. Findings indicate that government policies have increasingly emphasized digital transformation, integration of information and communication technology, and the development of teacher digital competencies within Islamic education. Regulatory structures demonstrate a dual governance system between madrasahs and general schools, which influences policy interpretation and implementation across institutions. Implementation challenges include disparities in infrastructure, limited digital readiness among educators, and inconsistencies in curriculum adaptation. Policy gaps are also identified in coordination between governing bodies and in the operationalization of digital governance systems. Effective implementation requires stronger institutional support, capacity building, and alignment between technological innovation and Islamic educational values. The study concludes that technology-based IRE policy plays a strategic role in enhancing educational quality, but its success depends on comprehensive, adaptive, and context-sensitive regulatory frameworks.

Abstract

The increasing accumulation of plastic waste has become an environmental challenge that requires educational efforts to build ecological awareness and moral responsibility. This study aims to examine the internalization of gratitude to Allah and environmental stewardship through plastic waste recycling activities among students of SD Negeri 5 Kota Bengkulu from the perspective of Islamic ecotheology. This study employed a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving principals, teachers, and students. The findings indicate that plastic waste recycling activities serve as an effective medium for integrating environmental education with Islamic values. Students developed an understanding that environmental preservation represents gratitude to Allah and responsibility for safeguarding natural resources entrusted to humanity. These activities also promoted discipline, cooperation, creativity, and ecological awareness. Overall, the study concludes that plastic waste recycling can strengthen both environmental consciousness and Islamic character formation through value-based educational practices.

Abstract

Fiqh learning in Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools (SDIT) holds high expectations for character building and worship practices, yet often faces a gap between curricular ideals and classroom realities. This study aims to analyze the problems and formulate comprehensive strategies of Fiqh teachers in improving students' religious understanding and value internalization at SDIT Ummu Fathimah, Bengkulu City. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, involving Fiqh teachers, the principal, the vice-principal of curriculum, and students as informants. Data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results indicate that the main problems include students' difficulties in understanding abstract concepts, the dominance of conventional methods, and limitations in time allocation and facilities. To overcome these, teachers implement three synergistic strategies: (1) contextual strategies and simulation (role-playing) in the classroom to bridge abstract concepts; (2) integration of interactive audio-visual media optimized despite facility constraints; and (3) strengthening value internalization through structured habituation programs, such as congregational Dhuha and Dzuhur prayers, and recitation of selected Surahs. This study concludes that shifting the teacher's role from a mere instructor to a murabbi (nurturer) through exemplary behavior (uswah hasanah) and creating a conducive environment (bi'ah shalihah) is the key to bridging the cognitive and practical gaps in Fiqh learning.

Abstract

This study examines the social relationships between religious leaders (kyai and santri) and the local community in Segamit Village, Semende Darat Ulu Subdistrict, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document review at the Raudhatul Mubtadi'in Islamic Boarding School. The findings reveal that the social bonds between religious figures and the surrounding community are built upon three interrelated foundations: shared religious activities, local cultural traditions, and mutual cooperation in daily life. Kyais play a dual role as spiritual authorities and informal social leaders whose guidance extends far beyond the walls of the Islamic boarding school. This study also identifies enabling factors particularly shared worship events, strong norms of mutual aid, and open channels of communication as well as inhibiting factors such as the encroachment of digital technology on direct social interaction and the Islamic boarding school's demanding internal schedule. These findings contribute to a broader understanding of how Islamic educational institutions function as pillars of community cohesion in rural Indonesia.
