Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the persuasive text writing ability of eighth-grade students in class VIIIB at SMP Negeri 2 Kupang City in the 2025/2026 academic year. The benefit of this research is to contribute to the development of knowledge in Indonesian language learning, particularly in writing persuasive texts. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques were carried out through a persuasive text writing test, which was assessed based on the aspects of persuasive text structure and linguistic aspects. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques by calculating the average score and the percentage of students who achieved mastery. The results of this study indicate that the level of persuasive text writing ability of students in class VIIIB at SMP Negeri 2 Kupang City is in the "capable" category. This can be seen from the class average score of 84.36, with 21 students (84%) meeting the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) of 75, while 4 students (16%) did not achieve mastery. This lack of mastery is due to students' still-low understanding of the material, lack of concentration during learning, and less active participation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan makna yang terkandung dalam motif kain tenun ikat (Futus) pada masyarakat Desa Fatukanutu Kecamatan Amabi Oefeto Kabupaen Kupang. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori semiotika. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kain Tenun Ikat (Futus) di Desa Fatukanutu memiliki 2 motif yaitu motif noa no’o (daun kelapa) dan manu basaf (dada ayam). Motif noa no’o (daun kelapa) memiliki makna banyak pendapat namun tetap satu dalam suatu ikatan kesatuan yang tidak pernah putus. Sedangkan Motif manu basaf (dada ayam) memiliki makna persatuan hati dan memperkuat ikatan sosial budaya masyarakat Desa Fatukanutu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam tarian Ta’e Benu di masyarakat Desa Hundihuk kecamatan Rote barat Laut Kabupaten Rote Ndao. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teori Linguistik Kebudayaan dan teori simeotika serta metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai- nilai yang terkandung dalam tarian Ta’e Benu  pada masyarakat Desa Hundihuk Kecamatan Rote Barat Laut, adalah (1) nilai Estetika, (2) nilai Sosial, (3) nilai Budaya, (4) nilai ekspresi.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the Thesis entitled "Loan Words in the Dawan Language (Uab Meto) in the Nano Community, Kualin District, South Central Timor Regency. The problem in this study is what are the loan words in the Dawan language (Uab Meto). The purpose of this study is to find out the loan words in the Dawan language (Uab Meto). The benefits of this study are to expand the author's knowledge about loan words in the Dawan language. The theory used in this study is the theory of structural linguistics. Where the study or analysis of language must be descriptive, language has its own rules. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Based on the results of this study, several loan words were found in the Dawan language, namely 1. Direct loan words in the Dawan language such as the words forok, and oto; 2. loan words that change in the Dawan language such as the words klas, bol, anin, sulat, kofi, tasu botil, lok, fatu, loko, lelken, beskoet, mistal, los, and kuk; 3. Slang loan words in the language dawan such as the words bestie, kulot, krop, and kibol 4. loan words in the dawan language such as the words skol, nalkoba, covid-19, hp, pupuk, lokte and lesa.
