Abstract

The low ability of students to solve mathematical problems at SMP N 1 Abung Tinggi is due to the difficulty of the students in solving problems and it seems that only a few have above average scores. This study aims to see the differences in learning outcomes of students who use the TAPPS learning method with the quick on the draw strategy and the direct instruction method on the mathematical problem solving ability in terms of differences in the cognitive styles of students. The type of research used is quasi experimental design. The data collection technique used was a test. Hypothesis testing uses two-way Anova analysis. Previously, the prerequisite test was carried out which included the normality test using the Liliefors test and the homogeneity test using the Barlett test. The result obtained in this study that (1) there are differences in the learning outcomes of students who use the TAPPS learning method with the quick on the draw strategy and the direct instruction method for mathematical problem solving abilities, (2) there is no difference between students with independent cognitive style and cognitive style dependent on ability in solving mathematical problems, (3) there is no interaction between the TAPPS learning method with the quick on the draw strategy and the direct instruction method in terms of differences in cognitive styles on the ability to solve mathematical problems.

Abstract

This study aims to inspect the effectiveness of using electronic student worksheets with a contextual approach on students' Adversity Quotient (AQ). The research design employed was quasi-experimental. It was conducted at Kotabumi during the academic year 2023/2024, involving 86 VII-th grade students as the population, focusing on the subject matter of social arithmetic. The independent variable in this study is electronic student worksheets with a contextual approach, and the dependent variable refers to the adversity quotient. The research sample was selected using random sampling technique, with 28 students from class VII B assigned to the experimental group and the control group consisted of 28 students from class VII C. The research employed a pre-post control group design. The instrument used was a questionnaire on adversity quotient, which had undergone validity and reliability tests. Data analysis involved descriptive and inferential analyses, with hypothesis testing conducted using independent sample t-tests. Based on the results of the n-gain hypothesis test, there was a difference in the improvement of students' AQ between the experimental and control groups. The findings of this study, as demonstrated through the n-gain test, indicate that the use of electronic student worksheets with a contextual approach is effective in enhancing students AQ.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an ethnomathematics-based pop-up book as a learning medium, integrating geometric concepts within the context of traditional Lampung houses, to enhance students' conceptual understanding of mathematics and to evaluate the responses of teachers and students as well as the effectiveness of the media. The research employed the Borg & Gall development model with seven steps: data collection, planning, initial draft development, preliminary testing, product revision, main field testing, and dissemination and implementation. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. Validation results indicated that the media fell into the "highly feasible" category, with a score of 90% from material and media experts. Small-scale testing received a "very interesting" response of 92%, while large-scale testing achieved a 94% positive response from 29 students. Improvement in conceptual understanding was evidenced by an N-Gain score of 0.89 (high category), and the media’s effectiveness was shown by an effect size of 1.06 (effective category). The findings imply that the ethnomathematics-based pop-up book is effective in supporting culturally responsive mathematics learning and can serve as an innovative and contextual alternative learning medium. Abstract

Design interactive worksheets based on Canva and Liveworksheets is the aim of this project to assist students in developing their social arithmetic problem-solving abilities. The research methodology employed was research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, which comprises the phases of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The participants were seventh-grade students and a math teacher from SMP Negeri 5 Kotabumi, Lampung. Tests of problem solving skills, observations, interviews, and questionnaires were employed to gather both qualitative and quantitative data. Subject matter experts' validation assessment, which received a score of 0.84 (very valid), media experts' score of 0.90 (valid), and students' and instructors' practicality index scores of 0.80 (practical) and 0.90 (very practical) all demonstrate the study's findings. The effectiveness of the interactive worksheet developed can be seen based on the testing of the n-gain data hypothesis listed in the significance section (2-tailed), which is 0.0017. There is a difference in the improvement of problem solving skills for students who use interactive worksheets. The novelty of this research lies in the development of interactive worksheets based on the Canva and Liveworksheet digital platforms, which integrate visualization, direct interaction, and automatic feedback to improve students' problem solving skills in social arithmetic. Thus, these findings show that the worksheets are valid, practical, and effective in improving students' problem solving skills.

Abstract

Background: Although Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) has been extensively studied in mathematics education, existing studies primarily report empirical findings, while the intellectual structure, thematic evolution, and emerging research directions of the field remain insufficiently synthesized. This limitation hinders a comprehensive understanding of research development and future priorities.Aims: This study aims to analyze trends in publications and citations, the most influential authors and journals, co-occurrence patterns of keywords, temporal trends in research topics, and the density of research topics related to SRL in mathematics education to support Quality Education.Methods: A quantitative bibliometric approach was employed using the Dimensions database. Publications published between 2016 and 2025 were retrieved using the keywords "Self-Regulated Learning" and "Mathematics Education." Of the 181 records identified, 91 journal articles met the predefined inclusion criteria and were analyzed using VOSviewer (version 1.6.20). Performance analysis was conducted to examine publication and citation trends, while science mapping using co-occurrence, overlay, and density visualizations identified the intellectual structure and thematic development of the field.Result: The results indicate that publications and citations related to SRL in mathematics education have increased during the 2016–2025 period. Furthermore, Tatang Herman and Dadang Juandi were the authors with the highest number of publications three each while the Journal of Physics: Conference Series was the journal with the highest number of publications, totaling six. Co-occurrence analysis identified three interconnected research clusters dominated by motivation, achievement, self-efficacy, engagement, feedback, and learning environment. Overlay visualization revealed a shift from studies emphasizing individual learner characteristics toward technology-supported learning, instructional frameworks, and learning environments. Density visualization showed that achievement, engagement, feedback, and quantitative empirical approaches remain the most intensively studied themes.Conclusion: This study advances current understanding by identifying emerging themes and research gaps in SRL within mathematics education. The findings provide evidence-based directions for future research integrating pedagogical, psychological, and technological perspectives, while informing the design of innovative mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to map the global research trends on Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) in mathematics learning during the 2016–2025 period through bibliometric analysis. The scope of the study includes publication patterns, the most frequently studied research topics, and the most productive researchers and institutions. Data were obtained from the Scopus database using the keywords “Self-Regulated Learning” AND “Mathematics Learning” in the title, abstract, and keywords fields, yielding 63 publications that were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and VOSviewer. The results indicate an overall upward trend in publications, peaking in 2024 (13 documents), and a surge in citations from 5 in 2019 to 173 in 2025. Indonesia was the most productive country with 28 publications, followed by China (9) and Hong Kong (7). Guo, W. and Wei, J. were the most productive authors, while the Australian Journal of Education recorded the highest number of citations. Keyword mapping identified four thematic clusters: learning systems, educational technology, e-learning, and learning strategies and reflection. The study’s conclusions affirm that SRL in mathematics learning is evolving toward the Technology-Enhanced Self-Regulated Learning paradigm and recommend future research exploring the integration of SRL with artificial intelligence as well as broader international research collaboration.
