Abstract

This study aims to analyze the position of the Qur'an as the primary source of Islamic teachings and examine its normative and functional dimensions within the Islamic legal system. This study uses a library research approach with qualitative analysis methods on relevant classical and contemporary literature. This study discusses the etymological and terminological meaning of the Qur'an, the gradual process of revelation, and the classification of teachings that include the aspects of i'tiqadiyah, amaliyah, and khuluqiyah. The results show that the Qur'an holds a central position as a normative source that serves as the basis for the formation of theological, legal, and moral systems in Islam. In addition, the various nomenclatures of the Qur'an such as Al-Huda, Al-Kitab, and Al-Furqan reflect its multidimensional function in the lives of Muslims. This study emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive understanding of the Qur'an as the foundation of Islamic teachings in the context of science and life practice

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practice of students in implementing the teachings of Riyadhus Shalihin, particularly "Cooperation and Piety," at Pesantren Salman Alfarisi Binjai City. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation and interviews. The results of the study indicate that the value of helping each other (Ta’awun) has been practically implemented in the daily life of the students, whether in learning activities, worship, or social activities within the pesantren environment. The students show attitudes of helping each other in understanding lessons, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting friends who are experiencing difficulties. The value of piety is reflected in discipline in carrying out worship and obedience to pesantren rules. In addition, habituation and the exemplary behavior of the ustazah play an important role in shaping the character of the students. However, there are some obstacles such as differences in the level of understanding and individual awareness that affect the consistency of practice. Overall, the practice of the teachings in this chapter has gone well and has made a positive contribution in shaping noble character, solidarity, as well as a harmonious and religious pesantren environment. This research is expected to serve as a reference in strengthening character education based on Islamic values in pesantren.

Abstract

Religious moderation is essential in Indonesia’s plural society to foster tolerant and inclusive generations. This study aims to analyze the role of Akidah Akhlak teachers in internalizing the values of religious moderation among ninth-grade students at MTs Al-Washliyah 48 Binjai. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design involving Akidah Akhlak teachers and ninth-grade students. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results show that teachers play an active role through contextual learning, role modeling, habituation, and dialogical teaching strategies. These strategies are integrated with values of tolerance, justice, equality, cooperation, empathy, openness, and unity, and are implemented through discussions, case studies, role-playing, and storytelling methods. It can be concluded that Akidah Akhlak teachers play a significant role in strengthening students’ understanding and practice of religious moderation, although challenges such as family influence, social media exposure, and limited instructional time still exist.
