Abstract

This activity aimed to improve the ability of the Pade Girang to produce attractive product photographs using smartphones for digital marketing purposes. The activity focused on processed banana products, which had limited market appeal due to poor visual presentation in social media promotion. The program was conducted from June to July 2025 using a participatory approach consisting of preparation, training, practice, and evaluation stages. Training materials included smartphone camera features, lighting techniques, product arrangement, background selection, shooting angles, and simple photo editing applications. The activity involved 15 participants and emphasized direct practice using participants’ own products. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding and technical skills in taking clearer, more attractive, and marketable product photographs. Participants became more capable of using natural lighting, arranging product composition, and selecting appropriate photo angles. In addition, the training encouraged participants to understand the importance of visual presentation in digital marketing. Several participants began using social media to promote their products after the training. Overall, the activity contributed to strengthening the marketing capacity of the farmer group and supporting wider market access for processed banana products.

Abstract

Electronic commerce, abbreviated as e-commerce, is an electronic trading platform that must be connected to the internet. E-commerce has many benefits for businesses and consumers. The number of e-commerce users has increased along with the increasing number of internet users in Indonesia. However, in some areas, there are still people who do not understand e-commerce. KWT Melati, located in Suranadi Village, West Lombok Regency, conducts traditional marketing, because it does not recognize e-commerce. KWT members find it difficult to adapt to technological developments, and a few of them are passive users of e-commerce applications, namely only as consumers. Therefore, the purpose of this service activity is to assist KWT Melati through the utilization of e-commerce platforms as a means of promotion. The service method consists of a pre-activity survey, socialization, mentoring, and evaluation. The number of activity participants was 20 people who were active members of KWT Melati. The results of the service activities show that participants have understood and are able to use e-commerce, in this case, the Shopee application

Abstract

Suranadi Village, located in Narmada District, West Lombok Regency, is part of the Rinjani–Lombok Geopark area and has considerable natural, cultural, and tourism potential. In addition to the tourism sector, the village has a valuable local resource in the form of jackfruit, which has been utilized by the community through home-based industries to produce processed products such as jackfruit dodol and chips. One of the key groups involved in these processing activities is the Melati Women Farmers Group (Kelompok Wanita Tani/KWT Melati). Several community empowerment programs have previously been implemented to improve the capacity of KWT Melati, including product diversification, e-commerce-based marketing, and business legalization, supported by DRTPM in 2023. However, evaluation results indicated the need for a follow-up program to expand the market through product development, particularly the production of jackfruit floss. KWT Melati still faced limited knowledge and skills in producing jackfruit floss. Therefore, the community service team conducted training on jackfruit floss production using the Participatory Demonstrative Training method. The results showed an improvement in the partners' skills in producing jackfruit floss and presenting it in attractive packaging. Future training programs should be extended to the utilization of jackfruit by-products, particularly jackfruit seeds, locally known as beton, to create additional economic value.
