Abstract

Health education aims to change or influence human behavior individually, in groups, or in society, to enable them to be more independent in achieving healthy living goals. In this health education, a method is needed so that the message can be delivered as expected. The delivery method in this education is by using lectures, videos, and actions towards environmental cleanliness. With this activity, students are expected to be able to increase their knowledge of school environmental cleanliness such as disposing of trash in its place, being able to differentiate organic and inorganic waste, not scribbling on walls and tables, and consciously wanting to work together to clean the yard and classroom. The implementation of community service requires cooperation from various parties so that health education can be carried out not only once, but regularly to monitor the development of students' knowledge about environmental cleanliness in schools. In addition to lectures, videos and actions, the implementation or delivery of health education can also use educational games as media because with games, students can more easily understand, students also do not experience boredom in the delivery of the material.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the healthy lifestyles of Physical Education students at STKIP Hermon Timika, in terms of hygiene, healthy food, regular lifestyle, increased endurance and physical fitness, disease prevention, increased intelligence and spirituality, healthy housing facilities, and health checks. The study used a quantitative descriptive design with a survey method. A sample of 50 students was determined using total sampling. The instrument was a 4-level Likert-scale questionnaire developed based on indicators of clean and healthy living behaviors, balanced nutrition guidelines, and promotive-preventive principles. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (means and percentages). The results indicate that students' healthy lifestyles are categorized as good to very good, with endurance and physical fitness scoring the highest (85%) and health checks scoring the lowest (60%). These findings indicate the need to strengthen preventive health interventions and access to regular health screening services on campus. Abstract

In general, Pencak Silat techniques include punches, kicks, grabs, throws, takedowns, locks, blocks, backhand strikes, scratches, thrusts, strikes, slashes, and jabs. (Gunawan. A, 2007). A physical component that plays a significant role in every sport, including Pencak Silat, is lower-body explosive power. Ankle weight training is an exercise designed to enhance the strength and performance of the lower-body muscles, performed by applying weight to the lower legs (Girsang & Hasibuan, 2012). The research was conducted at the IKSPI Kera Sakti Pencak Silat Academy in Timika, Papua. This was a pre-experimental study. The design was a one-group pretest-posttest design. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of lower-body power training using the ankle-weight method on the straight-kick ability of athletes from the IKSPI Kera Sakti Timika, as evidenced by a pretest average score of 10.13, which increased in the posttest, with the average score for straight-kick ability reaching 15.20. The t-test results also show that the calculated t-value of 8.264 > the critical t-value of 1.7613 (df 14), with a significance level of p = 0.000 < 0.05. Based on the research results, it is concluded that “There is a significant effect of lower-body muscle power training using the Ankle Weight Method on straight-kick ability among athletes at the IKSPI Kera Sakti Timika.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students' learning outcomes in underhand passing skills in volleyball through the use of rebound wall target media for seventh-grade students of SMP Yapis Timika. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were seventh-grade students of SMP Yapis Timika. Data were collected using observation and skill performance tests. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis by examining the improvement in the average learning outcomes in each cycle. The results showed that the use of rebound wall target media improved students' underhand passing skills. The average score increased from 74.04 in the pre-cycle to 76.03 in cycle I, and further improved to 78.02 in cycle II. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of rebound wall target media is effective in improving students' learning outcomes in underhand passing skills in volleyball for seventh-grade students of SMP Yapis Timika.
