Abstract

Education is the main pillar in the development of a nation. To achieve the goal of quality education, effective and efficient management is required. School management includes a series of activities such as planning, organizing, implementing and controlling educational resources to achieve predetermined goals. Similarly, madrasah as an Islamic educational institution has special characteristics that combine general and religious knowledge. The implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) or Madrasah-Based Management (MBM) is an important strategy in decentralizing education. Therefore, an in-depth study of school and madrasah management is needed to identify existing problems and formulate appropriate solutions to improve the quality of education in Indonesia

Abstract

The development of assessment at the Vocational High School (SMK) level is a strategic effort to improve the quality of vocational education in Indonesia. Assessment in SMK not only aims to measure learning outcomes but also evaluates students’ ability to apply knowledge, skills, and work attitudes required by industry standards. Assessment models such as authentic assessment, project-based assessment, and performance assessment are considered effective in measuring students’ competencies comprehensively. However, several challenges remain, including limited teacher competence in designing authentic assessments, insufficient use of digital technology, and the lack of strong collaboration between schools and industries. Therefore, enhancing teacher competence and strengthening cross-sector collaboration are necessary to create a more relevant and adaptive assessment system that produces competent graduates ready to compete in the workforce.

Abstract

Decision-making is a crucial aspect of the educational field as it directly affects learning quality, school management, and the achievement of educational goals. This article aims to describe various decision-making techniques applicable within educational institutions and to analyze the factors influencing the effectiveness of decisions made by school principals and teachers. The research method used is library research, collecting data from various literatures, academic journals, and online sources related to the concept and application of decision-making techniques. The results indicate that the success of decision-making in schools depends on the accuracy of the techniques applied, such as rational, intuitive, participatory, and data-driven approaches. Participatory and group decision-making techniques foster collaboration and shared responsibility, while rational and data-driven techniques enhance the objectivity of educational policies. Therefore, effective decision-making in education must be systematic, democratic, and data-based to support the development of adaptive, efficient, and sustainable educational management.

Abstract

The development of science and technology (IPTEK) in the modern era has brought significant changes to various aspects of human life. This article discusses the reciprocal relationship between science and technology, in which science serves as the theoretical foundation for the emergence of technology, while technology functions as a means of applying and accelerating the development of scientific knowledge. Using a qualitative research method with a library research approach, data were collected from books, articles, and scientific journals relevant to the theme of science, technology, and their implications for society, particularly in the field of education. The findings indicate that science and technology play a strategic role in facilitating human activities, increasing the effectiveness of learning processes, and serving as an indicator of a nation's progress. However, the advancement of science and technology also entails potential negative impacts such as digital inequality, technological dependence, and ethical as well as moral issues. Therefore, the development and utilization of science and technology must be accompanied by the strengthening of ethical values, social responsibility, and human character so that their progress results not only in technical sophistication but also in genuine benefits for human life.
