Abstract

This study aims to design a multimedia-based interactive quiz application prototype as a digital learning evaluation medium. The main problem addressed is that conventional assessment media do not always provide an integrated timer, automatic scoring, answer discussion, leaderboard, and question management. The research applies a Research and Development approach using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), consisting of concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution stages. System modeling is performed using Unified Modeling Language (UML), including a use case diagram, student activity diagram, admin activity diagram, and class diagram. The result is a system design and interface prototype that includes login, quiz selection, timer-based question answering, score calculation, answer discussion, leaderboard, and question management by the admin. Evaluation is conducted using black-box testing at the prototype level to verify feature conformity with requirement scenarios. The evaluation results indicate that all main scenarios have been represented in the prototype design. This study provides a foundation for further development into a fully functional application and user usability testing.

Abstract

Currently, the trade in used goods is still largely conducted through unstructured social media and instant messaging groups, resulting in problems in searching for goods, managing seller data, and moderating content. This study aims to design and implement a web-based used goods marketplace application called LOAK.IN as a solution to organize used goods buying and selling activities in a more structured manner. This solution is realized through the development of a web application using the Laravel framework with a Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture. The research method used is the Waterfall software development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, implementation, and testing. Functional testing was conducted using the black-box testing method for all system requirements. The results show that all main functionality of the application runs according to the specified specifications and the system operates stably, so LOAK.IN can be used as a functional solution to support more organized used goods transactions.

Abstract

Boutique Boutique digital agencies frequently encounter operational bottlenecks caused by disjointed workflows and reliance on manual data handling. Using Agency XYZ as a case study, this research identifies critical issues such as asset-caption mismatches and data security vulnerabilities arising from unmanaged 'Bring Your Own Device' (BYOD) practices. To address these challenges, this study applies the TOGAF Architecture Development Method (ADM) to design a comprehensive Enterprise Architecture tailored for small organizations. The resulting solution presents a blueprint for a centralized, web-based information system that seamlessly integrates with existing Google Workspace infrastructure and WhatsApp notifications. Key contributions of this design include an automated 'auto-switch' task delegation mechanism to prevent bottlenecks and a unified data model that establishes a Single Source of Truth (SSOT). The proposed architecture is projected to significantly reduce coordination latency, mitigate human error, and establish a secure, scalable operational framework for small creative teams.

Abstract

In the classroom, rules regarding writing authenticity often sound simple—do not copy, cite sources—yet in practice, they are rarely straightforward. This case study captures how assignment originality screening was conducted in a single class at UIN Sumatera Utara ($n=33$) over a three-week period, during which the lecturer combined detection tools (similarity matching/AI) with manual verification and structured feedback. We collected policy documents, examination results from two manuscript versions (pre- and post-revision), responses to an 11-item Likert questionnaire, open-ended comments, and conducted brief interviews with the lecturer and several students. Quantitative analysis presents per-item summaries, 95% confidence intervals, thematic subscales, and composite score distributions; qualitative analysis synthesizes recurring themes from comments and interviews, specifically focusing on rule clarity, perceived fairness, and identifying what genuinely assists students when revising their writing. The results indicate a neutral-to-positive attitude toward the process (composite mean $\approx 3.47$), peaking at the item regarding "increased intention to write authentically" after receiving feedback, and scoring lowest on "trust in the lecturer’s final decision." Based on these findings, we propose more transparent methods for explaining the basis of the lecturer's decisions (e.g., displaying text snippets and their original sources), feedback formats that directly address "what went wrong and how to correct it," and simple guidelines for interpreting similarity reports/AI indicators. While we acknowledge the study's limitations—a single class and a three-week duration—the findings are sufficiently rich to suggest practical measures that can be immediately adopted in similar classroom settings.

Abstract

Employee attendance plays an important role in maintaining discipline and supporting work effectiveness. However, manual and fingerprint-based attendance systems still face several challenges, such as the possibility of proxy attendance, long queues during check-in hours, and difficulties in data recap. To address these issues, this study designs a web-based attendance information system equipped with GPS location validation and photo capture as proof of attendance. The research was conducted at PT XYZ using the Waterfall development method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies to formulate system requirements. The system design was modeled using Unified Modeling Language (UML), including use case diagrams and activity diagrams, which illustrate the interaction flows between employees and administrators. The implementation results show that the system successfully validates attendance location, stores photos as visual evidence, and facilitates administrators in managing employee and location data. Testing using the Black Box method confirmed that all functions operated as expected. Thus, the system improves the validity of attendance data, reduces fraud, and supports administrative efficiency within the company.
