Abstract

The rapid development of digital transactions poses new challenges in personal data protection, especially related to aspects of regulation, security, and efficiency. This article aims to analyze the implications of personal data protection in digital transactions from the perspective of economic law and Islamic law. Using a normative and empirical approach, this study explores the effectiveness of applicable regulations, the level of data security implemented by digital service providers, and their impact on economic efficiency in the digital ecosystem. The results of the study show that although regulations related to personal data protection, such as Law No. 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (PDP), have been implemented, there are still various obstacles in their implementation, including weak law enforcement and low public awareness. From the perspective of economic law, effective protection of personal data can increase consumer trust and stability of the digital market, but on the other hand, the implementation of strict regulations can also create an economic burden for business actors. Meanwhile, from the perspective of Islamic law, the protection of personal data is in line with the principles of hifz al-'ird (protection of honor) and hifz al-mal (protection of property), which emphasize the importance of safeguarding individual rights and preventing the misuse of personal information. Thus, this study emphasizes the urgency of improving regulations and strengthening data security infrastructure to create a balance between privacy protection, legal certainty, and economic efficiency in digital transactions. In addition, the integration of Islamic legal values in personal data protection policies can be a more holistic approach in building a fair and sustainable data protection system.

Abstract

Based on data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Islamic banking has continued to expand and become an integral component of Indonesia's financial system, although the level of Islamic financial literacy remains lower than that of conventional finance. This study aims to examine the effects of public awareness and Good Corporate Governance on customer trust at Bank Syariah Indonesia Padangsidimpuan Branch. A quantitative approach with a causal associative research design was employed. The study involved 100 customers selected through purposive sampling, and data were collected using a structured questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed using validity, reliability, and normality tests, followed by multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²). The findings indicate that public awareness has a positive and significant effect on customer trust. In contrast, Good Corporate Governance does not have a significant partial effect on customer trust. However, public awareness and Good Corporate Governance jointly exert a significant influence on customer trust. The coefficient of determination shows that both independent variables explain 78.4% of the variance in customer trust, while the remaining 21.6% is attributable to factors beyond the scope of this study. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening Islamic financial literacy alongside governance practices to foster sustainable customer trust in Islamic banking.

Abstract

Understanding Islamic family law is an important aspect in Islamic law education, especially for students of the Islamic Family Law Study Program. However, in practice, various problems are still found that originate from the dominance of the textual approach, the gap between classical fiqh and social reality, and the complex relationship between Islamic law and state law. This research aims to analyze the problems of understanding Islamic family law in S1 students of Islamic Family Law in Mandailing Natal by highlighting the tension between normative texts, social practices, and modern legal dynamics. This research uses a qualitative approach with a field study method (field study), through observation and analysis of empirical data associated with normative and sociological studies. The research results show that students' understanding of Islamic family law still tends to be normative-textual and not completely contextual. The maqaṣid al-syari'ah approach is offered as a methodological solution to bridge the gap, because it is able to integrate the purpose of Islamic law with the demands of social justice and protection for vulnerable groups. This research emphasizes the importance of updating the Islamic family law education approach to be more responsive to social development and modern law.

Abstract

In the perspective of Maqāṣid al-Sharī'ah according to Al-Syāṭibī, zakat plays a central role in realizing the benefits of the ummah (jalb al-maṣāliḥ) and preventing harm (dar' al-mafāsid). However, the practice of distributing zakat in Padangsidimpuan City still faces various obstacles, such as limited mustachik data, long bureaucracy, and geographical barriers, so that the benefits of zakat are not optimal for vulnerable groups. Along with the development of technology, various innovations have begun to be implemented to increase the effectiveness, transparency, and accountability of zakat distribution. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach to analyze the role of zakat distribution innovation in increasing accessibility and efficiency in accordance with Maqāṣid al-Sharī'ah. Data was collected through observations, in-depth interviews with zakat institutions, and focused group discussions with beneficiaries and stakeholders. The results of the study show that the use of technology, such as digital zakat platforms, mustahik identification systems, and mobile-based disbursement, significantly increases the accessibility, efficiency, and transparency of zakat distribution. These findings reflect efforts to protect property (ḥifẓ al-māl), and are reinforced by community-based participatory models and collaboration of local stakeholders that support the sustainability and accountability of zakat management.
