Abstract

Proper nutrition is essential for adolescents to ensure they grow and develop to their full potential. When adolescents don't get enough to eat, it may affect their health and nutritional condition, and those effects can last into adulthood. Teens enrolled in SMKN 1 Penawartama, a public school in Tulang Bawang Regency, Lampung Province, will have their dietary habits, levels of physical activity, nutritional knowledge, and attitudes studied. In order to get nutritional status data, body mass index (BMI) calculations were performed. Two 24-hour food recall questionnaires were used to measure students' dietary consumption, and another set of questionnaires was used to measure their physical activity, nutritional knowledge, and attitudes. Using Fisher's Exact Test, we examined the data to find out how dietary consumption, exercise, nutritional awareness, and attitudes affected nutritional status. Although they have a strong understanding of nutrition and a positive mindset, the majority of students do not get enough exercise and eat poorly. The bivariate analysis did not uncover any correlation between the students' nutritional status and their carbohydrate, protein, fat, physical activity, knowledge, or attitude intakes (p = 0.572, p = 0.645, p = 109, p = 0.649, respectively). The results of this study did not find any significant association in the variables analyzed, so further research is recommended to assess what factors are related to the nutritional status of adolescents with more respondents in various different school environments to see a broader picture of nutrition in adolescents.

Limited public knowledge about TB, including poor preventive behaviors such as not covering the mouth when coughing and spitting carelessly, highlights the need for continuous health education. In addition, many TB patients feel ashamed when diagnosed with the disease and tend to hide their condition due to fear of social stigma and rejection from others. This community service activity was conducted at KWT Melati Jaya 10, Sukamenanti Baru Village, Kedaton District, Bandar Lampung, and was carried out in one day. The program implemented lecture methods and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) held at the community meeting hall and attended by 18 female participants from the women farmers group. The activity lasted for two hours using PowerPoint media. Before the educational session, participants were given a pre-test to assess their knowledge about TB. The results showed that participants already had a relatively good understanding of TB, with an average pre-test score of 9.1 and a post-test score of 9.6. Participants generally understood how TB transmission occurs; however, further education is still needed regarding prevention and control measures to reduce TB transmission. The high prevalence of TB in Lampung Province requires collaboration among local governments, health offices, healthcare workers, and communities to prevent transmission. TB should not be considered a social stigma, and patients should not feel ashamed of their condition so that healthcare workers can provide timely treatment and follow-up. Therefore, comprehensive education about the dangers of TB should be provided to all levels of society. Keywords: eduction; prevention; tuberculosis.
