Abstract

Digital transformation in education demands that teachers acquire skills to use technology platforms as instructional media. Initial observations revealed that most teachers at SMP Advent Abepura were not familiar with web-based learning tools. This community service project aimed to enhance teachers’ competence through a training and socialization program on the use of Google Sites as an interactive learning platform. The methods used included lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test. The pre-test results indicated a low average score of 2.07 in digital media proficiency. After the training, the post-test average increased significantly to 4.36. Additionally, 90% of the participants successfully created learning websites tailored to their subject areas. This project demonstrates that practical and participatory training effectively improves teachers’ digital literacy and encourages the adoption of structured and sustainable digital learning strategies.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital menuntut adanya transformasi dalam proses pembelajaran termasuk dalam mata kuliah Manajemen Konflik di Program Studi Manajemen Pendidikan, Universitas Cenderawasih. Observasi awal menunjukkan rendahnya literasi digital mahasiswa dalam mengakses dan memanfaatkan sumber belajar digital, seperti jurnal, artikel, dan video pembelajaran. Ketidakmampuan ini menghambat efektivitas pembelajaran dan membatasi ruang diskusi serta analisis kritis di kelas. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut melalui pengembangan platform e-learning berbasis Google Sites. Metode yang digunakan mencakup analisis kebutuhan, survei keterampilan digital mahasiswa, perancangan konten dan struktur navigasi platform, sosialisasi, pelatihan, serta evaluasi implementasi. Hasil survei menunjukkan sebagian besar mahasiswa belum familiar dengan Google Sites dan membutuhkan panduan penggunaan. Setelah pelatihan dan pemanfaatan platform, mahasiswa menunjukkan peningkatan dalam literasi digital dan kemandirian belajar. Platform yang dikembangkan memuat berbagai konten interaktif seperti materi, tugas, video pembelajaran, dan permainan edukatif yang terintegrasi dengan Google Workspace. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan Google Sites sebagai media pembelajaran terbukti meningkatkan aksesibilitas dan kualitas pembelajaran serta mendorong mahasiswa untuk lebih aktif dan mandiri. Pengembangan platform ini dapat menjadi model implementasi pembelajaran digital di lingkungan Program Studi Manajemen Pendidikan secara lebih luas.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) examine the validity characteristics of the developed practical guidebook; (2) analyze the responses of practitioners regarding the developed practical guidebook. The laboratory manual to be developed is significantly innovative in that it combines inclusive and flexible instructional design with active and contextual learning approaches. The manual also includes pedagogical aspects to help students not only understand physics but also internalize how to teach science effectively in the future. This research is a type of research and development (R&D) aimed at developing a manual. According to Thiagrajan, development research is based on the 4-D model, namely Define, Design, Development, Disseminate, or the 4-P model, which consists of the definition stage, the design stage, the development stage, and the dissemination stage, which in this study is limited to the development stage only. The results of the study show that the developed practicum guidebook has met the validity standards for testing with an internal consistency coefficient of 0.97. In addition, based on the results of the student response analysis, it is known that the developed practicum guidebook is in the very practical category with a practicality percentage of 88%. This score shows that the developed practical guidebook is considered practical by students for use in practical activities.
