Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) was implemented to address the challenges faced by the SME CV. Sido Makmur in Bandungan Subdistrict, Semarang Regency, which continues to face obstacles in conventional marketing, simple packaging, limited production technology, and manual financial record-keeping. Implementation methods included field surveys, situation analysis, interviews, solution planning, training, digital marketing mentoring, packaging design development, the application of appropriate technology, and the implementation of an Android-based financial application. The results of the activities showed a significant improvement in five key aspects of the partner’s business. On the production side, the use of a mechanical mixer replaced manual mixing, thereby improving efficiency and consistency in quality. In terms of packaging, products that were previously plain now feature informative designs with brand labels, ingredient lists, and moisture-resistant materials. Digital marketing, which was previously limited to local wholesale stores, has expanded through online marketplaces and social media, broadening market reach. Financial management, which was previously manual, is now more accurate with the SI-APIK app, supporting automated record-keeping and routine reporting. Additionally, human resource capacity has increased through digital literacy and managerial training. Overall, the integration of innovations in digital marketing, packaging design, production technology, and app-based financial systems has proven to strengthen the competitiveness of partner SMEs. This program not only resolves operational challenges but also provides a practical foundation for business sustainability, while making a tangible contribution to SME empowerment and the strengthening of the local economy.

Abstract

The hatch cover is an important component on bulk carrier vessels that supports cargo protection and loading-unloading operations. Damage to the hatch cover may disrupt operational activities, increase accident risks, and cause delays in coal distribution. This study aims to analyze hatch cover maintenance and identify critical components with the potential for failure. The research used a mixed-method approach through Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). Data were collected through observations, documentation, and questionnaires distributed to ship crews. The analysis methods included Functional Block Diagram (FBD), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Logic Tree Analysis (LTA), and task selection. The results showed that the hydraulic pipe was the most critical component, with the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) value of 576 due to leakage causing unstable hydraulic pressure. Other components, such as the hydraulic jack, hatch cover wheels, and chain, also showed significant failure risks affecting hatch cover performance. The recommended maintenance actions include periodic inspections, routine maintenance, and replacement of damaged components. Proper implementation of maintenance is expected to improve hatch cover reliability, operational safety, and the efficiency of bulk carrier operations.

Abstract

The Bulk Transfer System on Supply Vessels plays a crucial role in supporting offshore logistics, particularly in transferring bulk cement to drilling facilities. The system operates on pneumatic principles and is influenced by compressors, piping networks, mechanical components, and control devices. However, the current maintenance approach remains reactive, increasing the risk of recurring operational failures. This study aims to evaluate system reliability and determine an optimal risk-based maintenance strategy using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). The analysis includes system function identification, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Logic Tree Analysis (LTA). The results show that the transfer pipeline has the highest risk (RPN 48), followed by the air compressor unit, air receiver tank, and safety system (RPN 36). LTA indicates that most failures are evident with Operational Consequences, while safety system failures are categorized as Safety Consequences. The application of RCM effectively improves overall system reliability.
