Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has made smartphones essential devices for supporting various daily activities. Intensive smartphone usage may lead to hardware and software failures, while users' limited knowledge in identifying these failures often results in improper troubleshooting. This study aims to design and develop a web-based expert system for diagnosing smartphone failures using the Forward Chaining method. The system was developed through requirements analysis, expert knowledge acquisition, knowledge base design, rule base construction, method implementation, and system testing. The knowledge base consists of 15 symptoms, 10 types of smartphone failures, and 20 diagnostic rules. The results of Black Box Testing showed that all system functions operated according to the specified requirements with a 100% success rate. Furthermore, validation using 20 test cases demonstrated that 19 system diagnoses were consistent with expert diagnoses, resulting in an accuracy of 95%. The developed expert system can assist users and technicians in performing initial smartphone failure diagnosis quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

Abstract

Field Work Practice (PKL) serves to bridge the gap between the competencies taught in higher education and the actual needs of the business and industrial sectors (DU/DI). However, the effectiveness of PKL is often hindered by a focus on administrative guidance alone. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to enhance the capacity of Field Supervisors (DPL) at the Mitra Gama Institute of Technology (ITMG) as the internal target audience. The activity was held on May 1–3, 2025, in the ITMG Auditorium for a duration of 24 instructional hours, involving 30 active faculty members at Mitra Gama Institute of Technology who were selected based on specific inclusion criteria. The implementation methods included technical guidance, focus group discussions (FGDs), and workshops. The activity was evaluated using a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design through structured questionnaires, as well as an analysis of the feasibility of the Follow-Up Action Plan (RTL) documents. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis. The results of the program showed an increase in participants’ cognitive knowledge and managerial readiness, as evidenced by a 38% increase in the average post-test score compared to the pre-test score. In addition, the program successfully facilitated the preparation of 30 independent Action Plan (RTL) documents and produced an institutional output in the form of a draft proposal for restructuring the internship evaluation rubric with a 50:50 ratio.

Abstract

Monkeypox cases has the potential to spread rapidly, making early detection crucial to prevent wider transmission. Unfortunately, at the UPT Puskesmas where this study was conducted, there is no system available to assist medical personnel in performing fast and standardized diagnoses. To address this issue, this research developed a web-based intelligent system by combining the Certainty Factor (CF) and Fuzzy Logic methods. The system’s knowledge base was constructed from symptom data collected through expert interviews and literature studies. It was then tested using data from 30 patients with similar symptoms. The processing involved calculating certainty values with CF and mapping them into fuzzy membership degrees. The test results showed an accuracy of 86%, demonstrating that the combination of CF and Fuzzy Logic improves diagnostic accuracy while providing results that are easier to interpret. Therefore, the developed system can serve as a diagnostic aid for monkeypox in primary healthcare centers, particularly in situations with limited diagnostic facilities, and can also serve as a foundation for developing intelligent detection technologies for other infectious diseases.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memperkuat kompetensi dosen Institut Teknologi Mitra Gama dalam menghadapi tantangan mengajar Generasi Z di era teknologi. Program dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahap: persiapan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Tahap persiapan dilakukan dengan survei kebutuhan dosen. Implementasi meliputi penyampaian materi tentang karakteristik mahasiswa Gen Z, strategi komunikasi positif, pemanfaatan media digital, serta praktik perancangan pembelajaran interaktif. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test, post-test, dan observasi keterlibatan peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan dosen dalam merancang pembelajaran yang relevan dengan kebutuhan Gen Z. Sebanyak 84% peserta memperoleh  wawasan baru, dan 71% merasa lebih percaya diri memanfaatkan media digital. Peserta juga menekankan pentingnya suasana kelas yang kolaboratif dan empatik. Keterbatasan utama kegiatan ini adalah durasi pelatihan yang singkat, sehingga diperlukan tindak lanjut berupa workshop serial atau pendampingan berkelanjutan.
