Abstract

Background: Cholesterol imbalance occurs in Diabetes Mellitus, where high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels are low and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) increases, where this imbalance results in the appearance of atherosclerosis. HDL has antiarterosclerotic potential so it needs to be targeted for therapy. One of the bioactive compounds that have this effect is found in chayote (Sechium edule (Jacq.) Swartz). This study aimed to examine the effects of ethanol extract, Chayote (Sechium Edule (Jacq.) Swartz) fraction and juice on the hdl level in male white miceSubjects and Method: A randomized controlled trial study was conducted to test HDL level in 54 male white rats of the Wistar strain (Rattus novergius sp.) after received ethanol extract, Chayote (Sechium Edule (Jacq.) Swartz) fraction and juice. The dependent variable was the HDL level. The independent variable was the variation in the dose of ethanol extract, fraction and Sechium edule (Jacq.) Swartz Juice. The data were analyzed using Anova test. Results: The treatment group induced by Streptozotocin 50 mg / kgBW + nicotinamide (120 mg/kgBW) + HFD and obtained ethanol extract of chayote fruit 150 mg / kgBW, orally had the highest average HDL levels compared to other groups (Mean = 17.31; SD = 3.14).Conclusion: The ethanol solvent found in the ethanol extract is better because it attracts biaoctive compounds so that it has a better effect than the ethyl acetate fraction and the n-hexane fraction. Conclusion: The ethanol solvent found in the ethanol extract is better because it attracts biaoctive compounds so that it has a better effect than the ethyl acetate fraction and the n-hexane fraction. Keywords: HDL, Flavonoid, Sechium edule (Jacq.) Abstract

In accordance with the application of the Tri Darma of Higher Education in the doctor's professional study program, one of which is community service. The purpose of community service activities is to provide explanations and education that can influence community behavior. This community service was carried out at an advent orphanage caring for children and adolescents with 25 participants. This community service activity was carried out on December 6, 2023, with the material of acute otitis media. This topic is very much needed in order to provide information and knowledge about acute Otitis media. Behavior to maintain ear hygiene and health to prevent this disease. Lack of knowledge many are subjected to unfavorable issues. Through this health counseling, it is expected that children and adolescents at Advent Peduli Orphanage, Gg. Kasih no 8, Sudirejo II, Kec. Medan Kota are always motivated to stay alert when playing with friends and keep their ears healthy.

Abstract

Background : Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and is also the leading cause of death in women worldwide. With about 1.3 million new cases and an estimated 458,000 deaths reported in 2008. Types of therapy that can be used in the treatment of cancer include surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy and hormonal therapy. Chemotherapy can affect cell health as well as cancer cells, leading to side effects that are common with medications. Psychological side effects in patients with chemotherapy are fear, anxiety to panic. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the factors that influence the anxiety of Ca Mammae patients with chemotherapy. Methods : The research method used was a Literature Review, using secondary data. Data were collected using documentation techniques. The research journals used were 7 journals with inclusion criteria for the publication date of the last 5 years, the language used was Indonesian or English, with the subject of the study of patients with a diagnosis of Ca mammae, and full text publication. Conclusion : There is a relationship between the factors that influence anxiety in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Starting from the factors of age, occupation, education, stage of cancer, and the frequency of chemotherapy.

Abstract

Background : Endometrial cancer is a malignant cancer in the uterine cavity in a position within the epithelial cells. Endometrial cancer has different types of cancer, namely endometrial cancer with type I (associated with estrogen) and endometrial cancer with type II (not associated with estrogen). Several trigger factors that cause endometrial cancer include parity, obesity, diabetes mellitus, history of hypertension, family genetic disease. In this study, the factors causing endometrial cancer were focused on body mass index and Total Parity to determine the relationship with the types of endometrial cancer. Methods : This research uses a literature review method. Data obtained from secondary data using documentation techniques. Data documentation is based on journals related to research variables. Results : Based on a literature review on the relationship between body mass index and types of endometrial cancer, there were journals discussing the relationship between BMI (obesity) and (normal) with Type I endometrial cancer, then journals discussing the relationship between BMI (obesity) and (obesity) and ( normal) with Type II endometrial cancer. Meanwhile, regarding the relationship between the number of parity and the types of endometrial cancer, there are journals that discuss the relationship between the number of parity (nuliparity), (primiparity) and (multipara) with Type I endometrial cancer and the number of parity (multipara) with Type II endometrial cancer. Conclusion : There is a relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and types of endometrial cancer. There is a correlation between the number of parity with the types of endometrial cancer

Abstract

Background: One of the most common malignancies among women around the world is cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is a multifactorial disease, one of the risk factors include infection with the HPV virus, with type 16 and type 18 as the most common type associated with cervical cancer. This study aims to investigate the relationship between cervical cancer with Human Papilloma Virus infection. Methods: This literature review obtained was conducted through searching the medical research journals that have been published in online journals both nationally and internationally using Google Scholar with keywords: cervical cancer, human papillomavirus infection. The literatures included in this literature review were Indonesian and English literatures published in the last 5 years starting from 2013 to 2018. Results: Six literatures addressing the relationship between the incidence of cervical cancer and HPV infection were found from the literature searching. These literatures were published from 2013 to 2018. Three of the literatures were case-control studies while the other three were cross-sectional studies. Conclusion: Human papilloma virus infection increases the risk of cervical cancer. The HPV types 16 and 18 virus are associated with cervical cancer.
