Abstract

Abstract. According to an article published by Kompas.com, 64% of Generation Z, born between 1995 and 2012, plan to monetize their social media content. Furthermore, the Instagram Trend Report 2023, based on a survey conducted in collaboration with WGSN involving 1,200 Instagram users from Generation Z, revealed that 67%  or 804 respondents intend to use social media as a platform to pursue a full-time career as content creators. However, many members of Generation Z are still unaware of the significant challenges associated with becoming professional content creators. This issue has also been identified by content creators affiliated with AKKuN. These practitioners observed that aspiring content creators often underestimate several important challenges, including the need to produce content that provides positive value and complies with Indonesia's Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE), as well as the importance of developing a distinctive personal branding strategy that can serve as their long-term identity. In response to these issues, this community engagement program organized a workshop consisting of interactive lectures accompanied by hands-on practice sessions on designing social media content and developing personal branding. The workshop was attended by 50 Generation Z participants, aged 18–24 years, representing various universities across the Solo Raya region. The resource persons were members of AKKuN, who served as the program's community partners. The evaluation of the workshop demonstrated that 88% of the 50 participants who attended expressed a commitment to improving the quality of their social media content.

This traditional market is not only a place for buying and selling transactions, but is also a center of social interaction for local people and also tourists who come from outside the city and abroad.
