Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kompleksitas konflik batin dalam karya sastra yang merepresentasikan dinamika kepribadian manusia. Novel Cantik Itu Luka karya Eka Kurniawan menampilkan berbagai pergolakan psikologis, khususnya pada tokoh laki-laki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk konflik kepribadian tokoh laki-laki berdasarkan struktur kepribadian teori Psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud yang meliputi id, ego, dan superego. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Data berupa kutipan naratif dan dialog dalam novel yang menunjukkan struktur dan konflik kepribadian, kemudian dijabarkan menggunakan teknik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konflik kepribadian tokoh laki-laki muncul dalam bentuk id yang mendorong tindakan impulsif dan agresif, peran ego sebagai penyeimbang antara dorongan instingtif dan realitas, serta superego yang memunculkan pertimbangan moral. Konflik kepribadian tersebut dipengaruhi oleh trauma masa lalu, lingkungan sosial, dan tekanan psikologis. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa struktur kepribadian Freud mampu menjelaskan dinamika konflik batin tokoh laki-laki dalam novel secara mendalam dan sistematis.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low intensive reading skills of class VIII-B students at SMPN 17 Malang, where in the pre-cycle stage only 4 out of 31 students obtained scores above the KKM. The study aims to describe the application of intensive reading strategies assisted by video media in improving reading skills, especially interpreting poetry. The study used the Kurt Lewin model of PTK method which consists of the planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages in two cycles. The research subjects were 31 class VIII-B students at SMPN 17 Malang. The instruments used included LKPD, observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. The results of the study showed an increase in class completeness from 38% in cycle I to 74% in cycle II or an increase of 36%. The increase occurred in six assessment aspects, namely understanding the content of the text, organization of the content of the text, diction, sentence structure, spelling and writing, and the meaningfulness of understanding. Furthermore, the questionnaire results showed that the use of video media received a positive response because it increased student motivation, activeness, and engagement during learning. Thus, the intensive reading strategy using video media has proven effective and feasible for implementation in Indonesian language learning, particularly in poetry.

Abstract

This study is a classroom action research (CAR) aimed at improving students' learning activeness through the implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on simile, metaphor, and repetition figurative-language materials in class VIII A of SMP Negeri 17 Malang, academic year 2025/2026. The subjects were 32 students, consisting of 14 male and 18 female students. The study was motivated by the low level of student activeness, indicated by reluctance to ask questions, hesitation to answer individually, and limited willingness to express opinions during the learning process. The research was conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages, following the Kemmis and McTaggart model. Data were collected through observation sheets measuring three indicators of activeness asking questions, answering questions, and expressing opinions and analyzed descriptively using percentages. The results showed a significant increase across cycles. In the pre-cycle, only 15.63% of students actively asked questions, 18.75% answered questions, and 9.38% expressed opinions. After Cycle I, these figures rose to 43.75%, 46.88%, and 25.00%, respectively. Following improvements in Cycle II including explicit role assignment and mandatory inter-group questioning activeness increased substantially to 93.75%, 87.50%, and 81.25%, exceeding the success criterion of 76%. The study concludes that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model effectively enhances students' learning activeness, collaboration, and communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia instruction
