Abstract

Flooding is one of the most frequent disasters occurring in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, causing not only physical damage but also psychological impacts on elementary school children. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of a psychosocial trauma healing learning model in improving learning interest among elementary school children after flooding in Perdamaian Village, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. A quasi-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The sample consisted of 50 flood-affected elementary school students selected through purposive sampling. The intervention was conducted for four weeks through play therapy, storytelling, art therapy, educational games, group reflection, and experiential learning activities. Data were collected using a learning interest questionnaire and observation sheets. Data were analyzed using a Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed that the mean learning interest score increased from 60.42±8.15 before intervention to 81.76±7.28 after intervention with p=0.01 (p<0.05). These findings indicate that the psychosocial trauma healing learning model effectively improves students' learning interest by restoring emotional well-being, enhancing feelings of safety, and creating an enjoyable learning environment. This model is recommended as an educational recovery strategy for elementary school children after disasters.

Abstract

The digital transformation in education requires enhanced cultural awareness that adapts to technological advancements and mental health dynamics. This study aims to develop and implement the Tech-Psy literacy program as a strategy to improve cultural awareness based on Health IT Psycho within educational settings. The approach integrates health information technology (Health IT) with educational psychology principles to foster healthy, empathetic, and culturally grounded digital behavior. The methods employed include surveys, digital-psychological literacy training, and qualitative evaluation of changes in participants’ attitudes and awareness. The results indicate that the implementation of the Tech-Psy program significantly increases participants’ understanding of digital ethics, mental health awareness in technology use, and appreciation of local cultural values within the context of digital globalization. Moreover, a positive correlation was found between Tech-Psy literacy levels and socio-emotional adaptability in digital spaces. These findings suggest that integrating Health IT Psycho into education not only supports mental well-being but also strengthens cultural identity in the technology era. The program is recommended as a model for developing psychosocial and culture-based digital literacy in Indonesian educational institutions.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the high vulnerability of elementary school students in rural areas to sexual harassment due to a lack of understanding of self-limitations, social norms, and low environmental control. Appropriate sexual education at an early age is considered a preventive strategy, but it remains a sensitive issue. Therefore, this study aims to test the effectiveness of the Game Based Learning (GBL) approach in improving students' anticipatory attitudes towards sexual harassment. The research method used is quantitative with a true experimental design of the pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 050740 Kwala Langkat who were divided into two groups: group A with GBL and group B with Story Based Learning. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations, then analyzed using independent sample t-tests and gain scores. The results showed that GBL had a significant effect on improving students' anticipatory attitudes with a significance value of 0.001 <0.05. The effectiveness test also showed an average gain score of 0.52, which is in the moderate category. These findings demonstrate that GBL is an effective, interactive, and enjoyable learning approach for equipping students with the skills to recognize and respond to potential sexual harassment. This study recommends further development of GBL with a variety of media and collaborative integration between schools and parents to optimize its impact.
