Abstract

Digital banking transformation has emerged as a central driver of financial inclusion, yet its distributive outcomes vary substantially across regulatory environments. This study conducts a structured comparative regulatory review to examine how variations in legal design, supervisory capacity, and governance coherence mediate the relationship between digital banking transformation and financial inclusion. Drawing on a systematic literature review of peer-reviewed scholarship and regulatory documents, the analysis integrates comparative institutional theory with regulatory governance frameworks. Findings reveal that proportional and adaptive regulatory architectures facilitate balanced innovation and prudential oversight, thereby enhancing both access and quality dimensions of inclusion. Higher transformation intensity—characterized by interoperable platforms, mobile ecosystems, and digital-only banking models—correlates with diversified service usage and broader socio-economic impacts, including growth and sustainability alignment. However, digital divides, infrastructural disparities, and governance fragmentation moderate inclusive outcomes. The study advances a conceptual framework positioning regulatory complementarity as the critical mediator linking technological innovation to inclusive development, offering theoretical refinement and policy-relevant insights for sustainable digital financial ecosystems.

Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in enhancing secondary students’ 21st-century skills using a quasi-experimental mixed-methods design. Participants were Grade 10–11 students from two comparable public schools, with intact classrooms assigned to a PBL condition or conventional instruction. Quantitative data were collected through pre-test and post-test measures of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and self-regulation, while qualitative evidence was obtained from classroom observations, reflective journals, and semi-structured interviews. Statistical analyses indicated significantly higher post-test gains in the PBL group, with effect sizes suggesting meaningful educational impact across multiple skill domains. The qualitative strand revealed that skill growth was mediated by scaffolding practices, authentic task structures, iterative revision cycles, and group accountability mechanisms. Transferability and sustainability outcomes were strongest when assessment criteria valued process indicators and when projects were connected to real-world issues. The integration of findings suggests that PBL supports equitable skill development by providing multiple participation pathways for diverse learners. Implications for curriculum and teacher development are discussed.

Abstract

Islamic law has long been perceived as a normative system rooted in classical jurisprudence, yet contemporary social developments have necessitated renewed interpretations and applications of fiqh. This article examines the relationship between Islamic law and social change by analyzing how contemporary fiqh responds to evolving social, economic, technological, and cultural contexts in Muslim societies. Employing normative legal research based on doctrinal analysis, this study explores classical legal principles alongside modern reformist approaches, including maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, ijtihād maqāṣidī, and collective ijtihād. The findings indicate that contemporary fiqh increasingly emphasizes public interest, legal objectives, and contextual reasoning to address modern challenges such as family law reform, healthcare ethics, digital transactions, and social justice. These developments reflect a shift from rigid textualism toward a more purposive and socially responsive jurisprudence. The article argues that this transformation does not undermine the authority of Islamic law but rather strengthens its legitimacy and relevance. By integrating ethical values with social realities, contemporary fiqh serves as an effective legal instrument for managing social change while preserving the core principles of Islamic jurisprudence.
