Abstract

The identification of error types based on Newman’s Procedure includes reading, comprehension, transformation, process skills, and answer encoding. The objective of this study is to describe the analysis of students’ errors in solving mathematical logic problems based on Newman’s Procedure. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach involving first year students enrolled in the mathematical logic course within the Information Systems program. Data were collected through a diagnostic test administered to three students representing different levels of academic ability: one low ability student, one moderate ability student, and one high ability student. Students’ ability levels were measured based on tests covering compound propositional logic and logical operations. Data analysis was conducted by classifying errors at each stage of Newman’s Procedure, tracing the underlying factors contributing to these errors, and relating them to students’ logical reasoning abilities. Accordingly, the research method employed in this study is descriptive qualitative research. The resulting error classifications were subsequently used by lecturers as a basis for recommending improvements in instructional strategies. The results indicate that students with low ability made errors across all stages from K1 to K5, students with moderate ability tended to make errors at the case exploration and process skills stages, while students with high ability were able to complete all stages systematically and consistently. These findings confirm that the Newman Procedure is effective in mapping students’ thinking errors. Therefore, the implementation of differentiated learning strategies that emphasize problem comprehension, case exploration, and logical verification is recommended to enhance students’ reasoning abilities

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the capability level of information technology governance in the personnel information system (SIMPEG) of STITEK Bontang using the COBIT 5 framework. The evaluation focuses on the domains of APO07 (Manage Human Resources), DSS01 (Manage Operations), DSS05 (Manage Security Services), and MEA01 (Monitor, Evaluate, and Assess Performance and Conformance), which are critical to service continuity and system risk management. The research methodology includes a literature review, data collection through questionnaires and interviews, and process capability analysis based on the COBIT 5 assessment model. Capability values are calculated by averaging indicator achievement scores for each domain and compared with the target capability levels to identify existing gaps. The results indicate that the average capability level of STITEK Bontang’s SIMPEG is Level 2.2 (Managed Process). Operationally, the system performs reliably with routine backup activities and no significant security incidents have been recorded. However, the gap analysis reveals weaknesses in process formalization, particularly in documentation, standard operating procedures, and evidence-based evaluation mechanisms. This study recommends the development of formal standard operating procedures, technical documentation, and strengthened monitoring and evaluation practices to improve IT governance capability to Level 3 (Established).

Abstract

Belakangan ini, kasus penipuan siber makin sering menimpa kalangan ibu-ibu. Seluruh kegiatan harian ibu-ibu hampir 24 jam terpapar dengan smartphone, tetapi belum memiliki pemahaman yang cukup tentang keamanan digital. Dari keprihatinan itulah kegiatan pengabdian ini lahir, khususnya bagi Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Inspektorat Kabupaten Banggai, agar lebih sadar dan cakap dalam menggunakan teknologi secara aman dan bijak. Ibu memiliki peran penting sebagai gerbang ilmu bagi anak-anak dan keluarga. Masyarakat yang melek digital berawal dari rumah tangga yang mampu menggunakan teknologi dengan cerdas dan beretika. Karena itu, penulis merasa pelatihan literasi digital perlu dilakukan sebagai langkah kec il menuju masyarakat yang lebih sadar literasi digital di era modern ini. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2025 di kantor Inspektorat Kabupaten Banggai. Metodenya meliputi ceramah yang menarik, praktik langsung menggunakan smartphone, sesi tanya jawab, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Ibu-ibu DWP menerima materi terkait keamanan dasar di WhatsApp, menilai berita hoaks, kontrol penggunaan gadget pada anak, dan membuat konten sederhana dengan Canva untuk menunjang kegiatan sehari-hari ibu-ibu DWP dalam mendukung kehidupan profesi mereka. Hasil pre-terst dan post-test menunjukkan kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman peserta secara signifikan dengan nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 55 naik menjadi 95 setelah pelatihan. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan dampaknya baik untuk peningkatan kesadaran digital, keterampilan praktis, dan sikap etis peserta dalam menggunakan teknologi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

The development of digital technology requires teachers to adapt and integrate technology into the learning process. Coordination between the community service team and partners revealed that teachers still face difficulties in optimizing Google Form features, particularly in creating interactive questions. This community service activity aims to enhance teachers’ competence in utilizing Google Form as a digital assessment tool to support learning efficiency and effectiveness. The implementation methods include coordination and collaboration with partners, interactive training sessions, and direct mentoring for participants. The success of the activity was evaluated using a satisfaction questionnaire with a Likert scale to assess the implementation, material relevance, instructor competence, and the overall impact of the training. The results of the community service activity show that teachers successfully created interactive questions by optimizing Google Form features. Partner satisfaction with the training was very high, exceeding 93% across four aspects: activity implementation, material relevance, instructor competence, and training impact. During the training, teachers gained digital assessment skills and knowledge about educational transformation. As a follow-up, a communication group was established to ensure the sustainability of digital competency development.
