Abstract

In the digital era, university students are increasingly exposed to radicalism and extremism through social media platforms, posing a significant challenge to national and global efforts to promote moderate religious values.This research aims to reveal the paradigm and the implementation of learning management for religious moderation at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS)  in the digital era. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. Data sources were obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis techniques include data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this study indicate that the learning management of religious moderation at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta is built on the paradigms of inclusiveness, progressiveness, and tolerance. These concepts are implemented through the management curriculum and the strategy of teaching. The study contributes to theoretical and practical discussions on managing religious education in universities, emphasizing the importance of adapting to digital transformations while promoting moderate religious values.

Abstract

Digital era marked by an overflow of information, instant culture, and moral decline character education that relies solely on normative and authoritarian approaches is increasingly inadequate. This study aims to compare and synthesize the educational thoughts of Imam Az-Zarnuji and Jean Piaget to develop a more integrative approach to character education. This study utilizes a qualitative research method with a literature review approach. The data sources comprise scholarly works relevant to the character education perspectives of Imam Az-Zarnuji and Jean Piaget. Results of this research are Az-Zarnuji stressing the importance of spirituality, ethical conduct (adab), and sincerity in seeking knowledge, while Piaget focuses on moral autonomy, social responsibility, and the development of ethical reasoning. The synthesis of their perspectives offers a more holistic framework for character education suited to contemporary challenges. The study recommends that future research build a contextualized character education framework and examine its practical implementation in educational institutions to assess its effectiveness in fostering students' moral development

Abstract

The moral degradation of the young generation in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 is a serious challenge, as seen from the rampant cyberbullying, the spread of hoaxes, and the abuse of technology among students. The development of digital technology facilitates access to information, but it also weakens social control, making students vulnerable to identity crises and a decline in moral sensitivity. In this context, educational institutions must not focus solely on cognitive aspects, but also strengthen spiritual, ethical, and noble moral dimensions. Therefore, the integration of Islamic Fiqh values in character education is very urgent as a systematic effort to instill awareness of Allah's law, habituating a disciplined, honest, responsible, and civilized attitude in the media. This study employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with a qualitative approach to analyze the integration of Islamic Fiqh values in character education, drawing on various journals and the latest scientific works. The results of the study demonstrate that the integration of Fiqh values can be achieved through a thematic curriculum, digital case-based learning, and the cultivation of values in daily life, enabling students to utilize technology wisely while maintaining moral integrity in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
