Abstract

Jagung salah komoditi utama yang dibudidayakan oleh petani di Provinsi Gorontalo begitupula di Desa Modelidu, Kecamatan Telaga Biru. Produksi jagung dalam bentuk pipilan jauh lebih menguntungkan dibandingkan dalam bentuk tongkol. Namun, kegiatan memipil membutuhkan biaya yang tinggi serta kegiatan memipil dilakukan menggunakan tangan sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang lama dan jumlah produksi yang terbatas. Di sisi lain harga mesin pemipil jagung cukup tinggi dipasaran sehingga tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini untuk mengintroduksi Teknologi Tepat Guna (TTG) yakni mesin pemipil tenaga surya yang mampu memanfaatkan sumber energi baru terbarukan dengan metode Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) dan Participatory Technologi Development, Hasil kegiatan diperoleh bahwa pengetahuan mitra tani Kelompok Olihitengah I terkait manfaat penggunaan teknologi mesin pemipil jagung tenaga surya mencapai 100%.  Mitra Kelompok Tani Olihitengah I, memahami manfaat penggunaan mesin dan tujuan pelaksanaan penerapan teknologi pemipil jagung tenaga surya, sedangkan untuk kegiatan perancangan dan perakitan mesin pemipil tenaga surya 96% mitra mampu merancang dan merakit mesin pemipil jagung tenaga surya.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the potential time of labor of corn farmers used for productive activities by corn farmers. Examine the factors that influence the allocation of farmer working time to corn farming. This research is quantitative research. The data source in this study is secondary data in the form of primary data from the distribution of questionnaires to corn farmers. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the potential time of labor in the family on productive activities in the agricultural sector is more dominated by male labor, which is an average of 617.35 HKSP, the results of the parsial test found that the variable land area, wage level and education significantly influence the allocation farmer working time on corn farming. While for skills, type of workforce and land management/technology systems have no significant effect.
