Abstract

This study aims to analyze risk management practices in the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) PD Berkah Rahayu, which operates in the wood-cutting sector in Purwakarta Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, supported by interviews and SWOT analysis, to identify internal and external factors influencing the business. The findings reveal four main categories of risks faced by the enterprise: market risk, operational risk, human resource risk, and financial risk. Market risks arise from fluctuating demand, changes in wood prices, competition with similar businesses, and dependence on local markets. Operational risks include machine damage, inconsistent cutting quality, and delays in raw material supply. Human resource risks are associated with limited skilled labor and lack of training, while financial risks relate to unstable cash flow and increasing operational costs. By applying the Risk Matrix and ISO 31000 principles, PD Berkah Rahayu is able to determine priority mitigation strategies, such as regular machine maintenance, employee competency improvement, strengthening supply chain management, and enhancing financial control. This study highlights the importance of structured risk management in improving sustainability, competitiveness, and operational effectiveness for MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the condition of the “Biru” refill-gallon business through SWOT analysis and risk identification. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method based on observations and employee interviews. The findings show that “Biru” has several strengths, including affordable prices, a strategic location in a densely populated area, RO and UV filtration technology, and convenient delivery services. However, the business also faces weaknesses, mainly its dependence on PDAM water and electricity, as well as manual financial recording. The risk analysis indicates that the highest threats come from operational and financial factors, such as water supply disruptions, power outages, and high maintenance costs. Mitigation efforts include regular machine maintenance, preparing reserve funds, and maintaining production-area cleanliness. Overall, “Biru” still has significant growth potential by maintaining water quality, improving service, and strengthening its business management.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in supporting the national economy, particularly in the creative industry sector. One MSME operating in this sector is Annisa Toys, a doll production and retail business located in Kampung Boneka Sayati, Bandung Regency. Although Annisa Toys has been established since 1UU2 and has experienced significant business growth, various business risks remain and may affect its operational continuity and sustainability. This study aims to identify the business risks faced by Annisa Toys, analyze the level of risk based on the ISO 31000 framework, and formulate appropriate risk mitigation strategies. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through direct observation, interviews with the business owner, and documentation studies. The results indicate that Annisa Toys faces several major risk categories, including operational risk, financial risk, human resource risk, market risk, marketing risk, and legal risk. Operational and market risks are identified as the most significant threats, particularly those related to custom doll production processes, intense price competition, and changes in consumer behavior. The implementation of ISO 31000–based risk management is expected to help Annisa Toys minimize risk impacts, improve operational efficiency, and maintain business sustainability in the increasingly competitive doll industry.
