Abstract

This study aims to revisit the concept of employee motivation, from classical motivational theories to their applications in the digital workplace. The study employed a qualitative literature review approach by systematically searching five academic databases, namely Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and Garuda. Articles were selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in fifteen studies published between 2020 and 2026, complemented by several foundational theoretical works as the conceptual basis. The data were analyzed using a narrative synthesis approach involving theme identification, comparison of findings, and conceptual integration. The findings indicate that Self-Determination Theory remains the most relevant theoretical framework for explaining employee motivation in the digital era. Although digital transformation does not alter the fundamental psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness, it reshapes the mechanisms through which these needs are fulfilled through remote and hybrid work arrangements, algorithmic management, and gamification. The synthesis produced five conceptual propositions and an integrative framework explaining the relationships among digital workplace conditions, psychological need satisfaction, and motivational outcomes. This study contributes to the literature by integrating multiple dimensions of digital transformation into a unified conceptual framework grounded in Self-Determination Theory. It also offers practical implications for organizations in designing human resource policies and management practices that foster and sustain employees' intrinsic motivation in the digital workplace.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze risk management practices in the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) PD Berkah Rahayu, which operates in the wood-cutting sector in Purwakarta Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, supported by interviews and SWOT analysis, to identify internal and external factors influencing the business. The findings reveal four main categories of risks faced by the enterprise: market risk, operational risk, human resource risk, and financial risk. Market risks arise from fluctuating demand, changes in wood prices, competition with similar businesses, and dependence on local markets. Operational risks include machine damage, inconsistent cutting quality, and delays in raw material supply. Human resource risks are associated with limited skilled labor and lack of training, while financial risks relate to unstable cash flow and increasing operational costs. By applying the Risk Matrix and ISO 31000 principles, PD Berkah Rahayu is able to determine priority mitigation strategies, such as regular machine maintenance, employee competency improvement, strengthening supply chain management, and enhancing financial control. This study highlights the importance of structured risk management in improving sustainability, competitiveness, and operational effectiveness for MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the condition of the “Biru” refill-gallon business through SWOT analysis and risk identification. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method based on observations and employee interviews. The findings show that “Biru” has several strengths, including affordable prices, a strategic location in a densely populated area, RO and UV filtration technology, and convenient delivery services. However, the business also faces weaknesses, mainly its dependence on PDAM water and electricity, as well as manual financial recording. The risk analysis indicates that the highest threats come from operational and financial factors, such as water supply disruptions, power outages, and high maintenance costs. Mitigation efforts include regular machine maintenance, preparing reserve funds, and maintaining production-area cleanliness. Overall, “Biru” still has significant growth potential by maintaining water quality, improving service, and strengthening its business management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of AI Literacy, Digital Marketing, and Differentiation Strategy on Competitive Advantage among Donatsu, a culinary micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) in Bandung City. A quantitative associative approach was employed using purposive sampling on 64 respondents who were Donatsu consumers in East Bandung. Data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics, following validity and reliability testing. The results show that, partially, AI Literacy (Sig. = 0.899) and Digital Marketing (Sig. = 0.606) have no significant effect on Competitive Advantage, whereas Differentiation Strategy has a positive and significant effect (B = 0.928; Sig. < 0.001) and emerges as the dominant variable. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly affect Competitive Advantage (F = 239.663; Sig. < 0.001), with an Adjusted R Square of 0.919, indicating that 91.9% of the variance in Competitive Advantage can be explained by these three variables. These findings suggest that AI literacy and digital marketing currently function merely as hygiene factors in the culinary competitive landscape, while product uniqueness and customer experience serve as the primary sources of sustainable competitive advantage for MSMEs. This study recommends that Donatsu prioritize investment in strengthening product and service differentiation rather than solely advancing promotional technology.
