Abstract

The water used by the community in Kota Bangun II Village for drinking and daily needs comes from three types of groundwater sources, namely natural sources, drilled wells and dug wells. This research aims to determine the suitability of the air consumed by the people of Kota Bangun II Village. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with the parameters tested being physical, chemical and biological parameters. The air sampling technique used in this research was purposive sampling. The air testing site at the Air Quality Laboratory and Microbiology and Aquaculture Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Mulawarman University, research was carried out for 3 months, namely January-March 2023. Based on the research results which have been compared with PERMENKES No. 492 of 2010 and Indonesian Government Regulation no. 82 of 2001 and Government Regulation no. 20 of 1990 that the source of drinking water in Kota Bangun II Village cannot be consumed directly and does not qualify as standard water

Abstract

The research aimed to look at the effect of induction. The effect of administering ethanol extract of gaharu leaves (Aquilaria malaccensis Lamk) on the histopathological picture of the lungs of white mice (Mus musculus) induced by carbamate class insecticides. The method used was truly experimental, carbamate induction via the intramuscular route with a dose of 14.4 Mg/BW and agarwood extract administered via the oral route with doses of 100, 200, and 300 Mg/BW, the duration of each treatment was 15 days. After treatment, preparations were made of the lungs using the paraffin block staining method with hematoxylin-eosin, the thickness of the alveolar septa and the presence of alveolar macrophages were measured. The results of the research showed that there was a thickening of the alveolar septa after induction of carbamate insecticide at a dose of 14.4 mg/BW with an average thickness of 21.62 µm compared to the healthy control group of 12.61, in addition to an increase in the percentage of neutrophils of 48.66 compared to the healthy controls of 23.33 which was caused by inflammation in the mice's bodies. , a decrease in the thickness of alveolar septa was caused by the administration of ethanol extract of agarwood leaves at a dose of 100/200/300 mg/BW with an average thickness of 15.18, 13.73, 15.57 µm compared to the negative control of 21.62 µm. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of agarwood leaf extract on lung histopathology -lungs of mice induced with carbamate class insecticides.

Abstract

This study analyzes biology misconceptions using a Four-Tier Multiple Choice diagnostic test supported by the Certainty of Response Index (CRI) on the topic of environmental change and preservation among Grade X students at SMA Negeri 3 Samarinda. The research employed a descriptive design involving 280 students from eight Grade X classes. The instrument used was a 10-item Four-Tier Multiple Choice test integrated with the CRI to assess both conceptual understanding and students’ confidence in their answers. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the average misconception rate among students was 50.64%, categorized as moderate. The highest rate of misconception (66.43%) was found in the indicator related to the causes of environmental change, classified as high. The findings indicate that the use of a Four-Tier Multiple Choice diagnostic test with CRI is an effective tool for identifying misconceptions in biology. Therefore, targeted instructional interventions are necessary to address these misconceptions and improve students' conceptual understanding.

Abstract

The Dutch jasmine plant (Combretum indicum) from the Combretaceae family is an aromatic ornamental plant known for its pleasant fragrance and vibrant flowers. This study aimed to formulate and evaluate aromatherapy preparations derived from Dutch jasmine essential oil and to determine the optimal formulation that meets physical quality standards for aromatherapy products. The research employed a true experimental design with quantitative and qualitative descriptive analyses. Four formulations were developed using different concentrations of essential oil: 2% (F1), 3% (F2), 4% (F3), and 5% (F4). The formulations were evaluated through hedonic testing by 35 panelists using a standardized assessment sheet. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with Microsoft Excel. The results showed that among the four formulations, the 4% essential oil formulation (F3) received the highest preference score from panelists and met the physical quality criteria for aromatherapy products. Therefore, the F3 formulation was identified as the most effective and desirable aromatherapy preparation derived from Dutch jasmine essential oil.

Abstract

Studi Kualitatif Pengetahuan Asupan Mikronutrien dan Pola Konsumsi terhadap Status Gizi Siswa SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda ini dibimbing oleh Bapak Dr. H. Akhmad, M.Kes untuk mengetahui pengetahuan asupan mikronutrien dan pola makan pada status gizi. Penelitian kualitatif ini dilakukan atas dasar kekhawatiran peneliti mengenai asupan makan remaja awal pada saat ini, terkhususnya siswa SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda. Penelitian ini dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian kualitatif tak kenal jumlah sampel minimum. Biasanya penelitian kualitatif memakai jumlah sampel kecil. Jumlah informan penelitian kualitatif fleksibel menurut syarat kecukupan dan kesesuaian. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrument berupa angket kuesioner dengan jawaban naratif, pedoman wawancara dan peneliti sendiri. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini ialah analisis secara naratif akan ditampilkan dalam bentuk narasi dari hasil wawancara. Hasil analisa berdasarkan data yang didapatkan peneliti dilapangan ialah siswa SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda mengetahui asupan mikronutrien secara teori namun dalam pengaplikasiannya terhadap pola konsumsi setiap harinya masih sangat kurang, mereka memiliki pengetahuan namun tidak mengambil tindakan yang didasari oleh kebiasaan yang mereka lakukan sehari-hari peneliti dengan responden yang bersedia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berlatar belakang pada perubahan arus teknologi yang begitu cepat sehingga mengharuskan pendidik untuk menyesuaikan sarana dan prasarana yang ada, agar materi pembelajaran dapat tersampaikan dengan baik. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis website Biology Simulations terhadap minat dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi sel kelas VII SMP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan ialah kuantitatif yang memakai metode quasi eksperimen serta rancangan post-test only control group design. Sampel diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji Independent Sample T-Test dengan signifikansi sebesar 5% dan didapatkan nilai signiifikansi dari minat belajar adalah 0,004 0,05 serta hasil belajar adalah 0,019 0,05. Bersumber pada data evaluasi post-test, diambil kesimpulan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis website Biology Simulations memberikan pengaruh yang dapat dibuktikan dengan meningkatnya minat dan hasil belajar pada materi sel kelas VII SMP.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan produk e-booklet berbasis potensi lokal ekosistem mangrove di pantai pendopo Balikpapan sebagai media pembelajaran biologi. Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalah model ADDIE yang teridi dari tahap: Analyze (analisis), Design (desain), Development (pengembangan), Implementation (implementasi), dan Evaluation (evaluasi). Penelitian ini hanya dilakukan sampai tahap pengembangan. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan angket validasi, angket respon guru dan siswa. E-booklet yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh ahli media dan ahli materi. Uji coba dilakukan kepada 2 guru biologi dan 33 siswa kelas X-G di SMA Negeri 7 Balikpapan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pengembangan dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran e-booklet berbasis potensi lokal ekosistem mangrove memenuhi aspek kevalidan dengan kategori (sangat valid) pada aspek media sebesar 87% dan aspek materi sebesar 85%. Media pembelajaran e-booklet berbasis potensi lokal ekosistem mangrove memenuhi aspek kepraktisan dengan respon siswa dan guru. Pada uji coba lapangan diperoleh respon guru 80% dan respon siswa 83% dengan kategori (Positif) dan e-booklet layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.
