Abstract

The development of digital technology has significantly transformed the field of education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). One of the rapidly developing technologies is Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is capable of supporting learning processes to become more effective, interactive, and adaptive to students’ needs. This article aims to describe the integration of Artificial Intelligence in Islamic Religious Education learning in the digital era, including the basic concepts of AI, the implementation of AI as a learning medium, as well as the challenges and opportunities of its application in Islamic education. The method used in this article is a literature review by examining various references related to the use of AI in education. The results indicate that AI can be utilized as a digital learning assistant, learning evaluation tool, educational chatbot, adaptive quiz system, and automatic learning content generator. The use of AI in PAI learning can improve learning effectiveness, personalize learning materials, and increase student engagement. However, the use of AI also presents challenges such as plagiarism risks, data security issues, and limitations in understanding students’ emotional and spiritual aspects. Therefore, the implementation of AI should be carried out wisely while maintaining the teacher’s role as the primary guide in Islamic values and character education.

Abstract

Holistic assessment is an important approach in the learning process at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) because it emphasizes the balanced assessment of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects of students. This article aims to describe the implementation of holistic learning assessment in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, including the concepts, forms, techniques, and challenges in its application. The method used in this article is library research by examining various books, journals, and scientific articles related to learning assessment in Islamic elementary education. The results show that holistic assessment in MI can be implemented through written tests, oral tests, observations, self-assessment, peer assessment, portfolios, and performance assessments. Holistic assessment helps teachers understand students’ development comprehensively, not only in terms of knowledge but also attitudes, character, and skills. However, the implementation of holistic assessment still faces several challenges, such as limited teacher competence, lack of facilities, and the complexity of the assessment process. Therefore, collaboration between teachers, schools, and parents is needed to support effective and meaningful assessment implementation in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.
