Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of social responsibility from the perspective of the Qur’an and its relevance to the governance of Islamic public institutions. The background of this study is grounded in the importance of the principle of mas’uliyyah (responsibility) as a moral and social foundation for human interactions with God, fellow human beings, the environment, and the self. The research employs a qualitative literature review approach, involving descriptive and comparative analyses of Qur’anic verses and interpretations by classical and contemporary Islamic scholars. The findings indicate that social responsibility in Islam encompasses both individual and communal obligations based on the values of amanah (trustworthiness), justice, ihsan (excellence), and socio-spiritual balance. The application of these values in the management of Islamic public institutions can enhance accountability, social justice, and organizational performance through ethical leadership and a strong commitment to community welfare. This study emphasizes that the integration of Qur’anic principles into public governance constitutes an essential foundation for character development and sustainable governance in Islamic institutions.

Abstract

This research aims to find out more about the history and transformation of da'wah institutionsin Southeast Asia in the midst of regional dynamics that occur. This research uses a literature studyresearch method by reviewing books, literature, notes, and various documents related to the problemto be solved. The results of this study show that da'wah in Southeast Asia has grown since its inceptionthrough a peaceful, adaptive, and social-interaction-based process, especially through trade routes,networks of scholars, and acculturation of local culture. This historical process became the foundationfor the formation of a diverse Muslim community and gave birth to da'wah institutions that wereinitially cultural and community-based into modern organizations that are more structured,professional, and integrated with various sectors of life. The da'wah method has also shifted from aconventional approach to the use of digital technology that allows for a wider and cross-border reach.In addition, the role of da'wah has expanded from a religious function to an agent of socialtransformation that includes the fields of education, economy, and community development.However, this study only relied on library sources such as journal articles, books, magazines, andrelated documents, this led to a lack of empirical data
