Abstract

Skills are something that every individual must have to increase family income and open work businesses for the community. The people of Bandar Bayu Village lack skills other than farming. Because of the skills possessed by the people of Bandar Bayu Village, skills training was held in the form of manual electric arc welding skills, the aim of this training was to increase family income and open work businesses for the community. Manual electric arc welding training is given because the equipment and ferrous metal are easy to obtain and the price is affordable. Welding training for the people of Bandar Bayu Village is carried out by directly instilling ferrous metal measuring techniques, ferrous metal cutting techniques, ferrous metal joining techniques by first explaining the function of the tool, the function of ferrous metal and safety before the welding process, safety during welding and safety training after welding. arc electricity manual. The results of manual electric arc welding skills training for the people of Bandar Bayu Village are that the people are able to weld iron materials and produce two tables and two stoves.

Abstract

In the process of separating leaves with sticks, the community in the Timbang Lawan Village area still uses human power and is done manually with a knife or machete. The solution is to make a stick shaver machine using a mechanical system with a capacity that is tailored to the needs of the user. The aim is to help increase the yield of palm oil sticks. The implementation method begins with examining the lack of technology and equipment in palm oil palm stick extraction, with stages 1). Follow-up surveys to partner locations to find out the work process of slashing and the output capacity to be achieved to meet market demand; 2). The design of the palm oil stick shaving machine uses mechanical energy; 3) Manufacture of palm oil stick crusher machine. 4) Test and install palm oil stick scraper machine before giving it to partners. 5) Socialization on how to maintain the shaver machine in Timbang Lawan Village. 6) handover of the shaver machine unit to the community group in Timbang Lawan Village. The results obtained where the shaved stick machine that has been completed is then handed over to the PKM partner. The machine can be operated and used by partners, where the production of palm oil sticks obtained increases by more than 100% or has a capacity of 15 kg/hour sticks, compared to manual which only gets 2 to 5 kg/3 hours of clean sticks

Abstract

Buntu Bedimbar Village is a village located on Jalan Batang Kuis Pasar VIII, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. The location of this village is a rural area where there are still many fields or rice fields that are used for farming to meet living needs. The urgency of this community service is related to partner problems, namely the absence of tools or technology that can assist in the process of peeling, shelling and chopping corn cobs, all work activities are carried out manually which in the end prolongs the work process time and has an impact on obtaining final results that are not optimal. The solution is to create a mechanical system of tools/machines for peeling, shelling and chopping corn cobs, to speed up the work process of corn farmers. The aim of this community service is to help solve problems faced by partners, namely by applying appropriate technology in the form of a multifunctional machine combining shellers, shellers and corn cob choppers using mechanical power that has been assembled in the mechanization of one work system. The implementation method is by coming directly to the location. partners, discussions look for partners' problems and then provide a solution, namely by making a multifunctional tool with a combination of mechanical system peeler, sheller and corn chopper. This tool works once to produce 3 outputs in the form of (corn peeler, corn sheller and corn cob chopper). The results of community service activities that have been carried out to date show that the community can accept this activity well, the tools provided can function and can help ease the work of corn farmers, especially during the harvest season.

Abstract

Masyarakat yang bermukim di Dusun I Desa Pegagan Julu VII pada umumnya bermata pencaharian sebagai petani padi sawah. Di lokasi mitra ini, proses perontokan padi masih dilakukan secara manual, ada pula yang menggunakan mesin perontok, namun seperti mesin perontok padi pada umumnya, hasil perontokan padi banyak yang berserakan di bawah mesin dan ada pula yang terlempar jauh akibat terdorongnya kipas angin dan pisau perontok padi, karena itu diperlukan inovasi untuk meningkatkan hasil panen, agar tidak banyak padi yang hilang. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk membantu memecahkan permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra dengan menerapkan Teknologi Tepat Guna (TTG) secara mandiri, dalam hal: 1) Pembuatan mesin perontok padi berbasis ulir dan blower pendorong yang sangat dibutuhkan petani padi, 2) Pelatihan teknik penggunaan mesin pembersih padi agar memperoleh hasil yang berkualitas, 3) Pelatihan perawatan berkala dan analisis ekonomi. Metode pelaksanaan diawali dengan melakukan asesmen terhadap kekurangan teknologi dan peralatan mesin perontok padi. Selama proses ini dilakukan dengan cara menyewa/mempekerjakan orang yang memiliki mesin atau dilakukan secara manual, maka metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan adalah 1). Survei lanjutan di lokasi mitra untuk mengetahui proses kerja mesin perontok padi dan kapasitas hasil yang ingin dicapai; 2). Perancangan mesin perontok padi berbasis ulir dan blower pendorong; 3) Pembuatan alat. 5) Sosialisasi cara perawatan mesin perontok padi. 6) Serah terima unit mesin perontok padi kepada mitra. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah dilakukan saat ini dalam tahap penyelesaian pembuatan alat dengan pabrik untuk komponen pendukung. Beberapa komponen terlihat sudah terpasang sesuai dengan rancangan awal, namun belum sampai pada tahap uji fungsional karena belum semua komponen terpasang.Abstract. At this partner's location, the rice threshing process is still done manually, some also use a thresher machine, but like rice thresher machines in general, a lot of the rice threshing results are scattered under the machine and some are thrown far away due to the push of the fan and rice thresher knife, because This requires innovation to increase crop yields, so that not much rice is lost. The aim of this activity is to help solve problems facing partners by implementing Appropriate Technology (TTG) independently, in terms of: 1) Making screw-based rice thresher machines and pusher blowers that are needed for rice farmers, 2) Training techniques for using rice cleaning machines to obtain quality results, 3) training on periodic maintenance and economic analysis. The implementation method begins with assessing the deficiencies in technology and equipment for rice threshing machines. As long as this process is carried out by renting/employing someone who owns the machine or it is done manually, the method used to achieve the objectives is 1). Further surveys at partner locations to find out the working process of the rice threshing machine and the capacity of the results to be achieved; 2). Design of screw-based rice threshing machine and pusher blower; 3) Making tools. 5) Socializing how to care for rice threshing machines. 6) Hand over the rice threshing machine unit to the partner. The results of community service activities that have been carried out are currently in the completion stage of making tools with factories for supporting components. Several components appear to have been installed according to the initial design, but have not yet reached the functional testing stage because not all components have been installed.

Abstract

Young residents of Silinda Village are very interested in skills to open up entrepreneurial job opportunities because, in general, residents only have farming skills. To realize this interest and create entrepreneurial work, community service was held in the form of SMAW welding training. This SMAW welding training was chosen because the price of equipment and materials is easy to obtain and economical so that it can be realized immediately. The skills training provided is carried out by explaining theoretical material and welding practice. The theoretical material is in the form of safety before welding, safety during welding, safety after welding is complete, and the function of the tools and materials needed, while the practical welding material is in the form of measurement techniques, how to cut materials, and how to connect iron using the SMAW method. The results obtained from the SMAW welding skills training are the creation of 1 door and 4 tables. With the results of the skills that have been possessed, young residents are confident in opening a business to increase income.

Abstract

Research in the field of internal combustion enigine using environmentally friendly fuels must be the main focus to increase efficiency, engine performance, reduction of exhaust gas emissions to clean combustion. Reactivity Controlled Compression Ignition (RCCI) on the diesel engines can be used as an innovative solution to increase thermal efficiency and reduce emissions through bending of fuels with different reactivity. This paper presents a comprehensive review of hydrogen-induced fuels systems on RCCI engines, as well as its impact on engine performance, emissions to Clean Combustion. Various studies show that mixing hydrogen in RCCI engines can increase thermal efficiency, speed up the combustion process, and reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate metter (PM), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC) and Smoke Opacity emissions. This review provides insight into the trend of development of hydrogen-induced RCCI on diesel engines and its prospects in realizing a clean and efficient combustion system, so that future research focus is important for finding appropriate fuel mixtures, operating parameters, and choosing optimal engines by considering technical problems, thermodynamics, economics, and the environment, as well as exploring the potential implementation of this technology in the future.
