Abstract

Cassava is one of the animal feeds, namely poultry and fish feed, etc. Its use is very beneficial for farmers easily to get this material. The processing of cassava is by chopping small cassava by chopping manul. This method is felt to be less efficient for a large amount because it will take a lot of time and energy, so by making the solution with a wake up design. in this design, it is devoted to the calculation of its components. In this design, the power used is 3.519 kw with a 2000 rpm engine speed, turning a 40 mm shaft using a 3 inch pulli 4 inch pulli with a 1500 rpm dish rotation using a V type A belt, with 9 blades in the tube.

Abstract

Shovel is one of the important parts in the clay grinding machine component, where this component serves to direct the material that is milled in the mill between the roller and roller bearings. With the high rate of replacement of this shovel material due to wear will have an impact on the decline in engine productivity due to lost working hours. Shovel material is made from Hardox 400 material where the value of BHN material hardness: 370 - 430, the value of material hardness is very influential in determining the age of the shovel, but still calculated from the side of the collision load that occurs during grinding. From the results of testing both macro testing and micro testing it is known that the value of material hardness (Hardness test) is not in accordance with the specifications of the material which is around 37% below the specification value. And from the SEM test results it can also be observed that there has been a significant change in the grain structure of the matrial surface and scouring on the shovel samples that have been used.

Abstract

In the process of processing cassava chips, especially chili chips made by the patumbak village community, ranging from stripping, washing, chopping, soaking and packing still use human labor and are done manually with simple tools. So that this problem can be overcome, the solution is to have designed and made cassava chopper machines. The purpose of this PKMS is to help solve the problems faced by small home industries with Appropriate Technology independently in the village patumbak, village. The implementation method begins by examining the technological and equipment deficiencies in the processing of cassava chips, especially the cassava chopper machine. During this time the process of chopping cassava before being fried into chips is done manually. The method used to achieve the PKMS goal is to make a cassava chopper machine in the village of Patumbak. The results obtained are that the PKMS activities have been completed by the team for 1 period of activity, the final result has been obtained the application of appropriate technology in the form of cassava chopper machines in partner villages and partners was greatly helped by these activities. From the activities that have been carried out the last questionnaire score that has been distributed to partner villages is the highest score influencing the results of understanding of the community or partners, where PKMS 2019 partners are satisfied and helped by the existence of the abdimas. The final result that has been obtained is the production of cassava chips increased by 50% when compared to before the team came to do PKMS activities, the condition of this improvement was seen after partners used cassava chopper machines from the PKMS team.

Abstract

Mesin penggiling sekam padi adalah mesin yang digunakan untuk proses penggiling sekam padi. Dengan menggunakan batu gerinda yang terpasang pada poros digerakkan oleh motor. Pengujian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi putaran batu giling terhadap produktivitas. Mesin yang diuji berkapasitas 30 kg/jam. Dengan menyiapkan mesin penggiling sekam padi dan alat uji yang digunakan kemudian bahan baku yang digunakan adalah sekam padi kering dengan density 0,902 kg/liter dengan ukuran rata-rata panjang 3 mm dan diameter 1-1,5 mm. Dari hasil pengujian ini ternyata diperoleh kapasitas 23,4 kg/jam yang bekerja pada putaran 992 rpm, sedangkan pada kapasitas 24,6 kg/jam yang bekerja pada putaran 1097 rpm, kapasitas 34,2 kg/jam yang bekerja pada putaran 1457 rpm. Kualitas yang didapat pada putaran 992 rpm yaitu 59% sekam halus dan 41% tidak halus, sedangkan pada putaran 1097 rpm yaitu 63,4% sekam halus dan 36,6 tidak halus dan pada putaran 1457 rpm yaitu 60% sekam halus dan 40% tidak halus. Effisiensi daya dan daya produksi yang dihasilkan pada putaran 992 rpm, besarnya effisiensi mesin 34,6% dengan daya 1733 Watt didapat daya produksi 74,05 Watt/kg, sedangkan pada putaran 1097 rpm besarnya effisiensi 33,3% dengan daya 1800 Watt didapat daya produksi 73,17 Watt/kg dan pada putaran 1457 rpm, besarnya effisiensi mesin 30% dengan daya 2000 Watt didapat daya produksi 58,47 Watt/kg. Abstract

Panas yang diberikan terhadap suatu fluida akan menyebabkan kenaikan temperatur pada fluda tersebut melalui perpindahan panas dari sumber pemanas melalui rambatan panas radiasi, konveksi dan koduksi sampai ke objek fluida yang dipanaskan. Dalam hal ini air sebagai bahan penelitian yang ditampung dalam suatu wadah stainless stell kapasitas 1000 ml. Berdasarkan penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa pada posisi pemanasan dengan waktu 10 menit terjadi kenaikan temperature paling tinggi yaitu 94.8 OC dan berikutnya terjadi stagnasi kenaikan temperatur dan mengalami sedikit penurunan temperatur walapun tetap dilakukan pemanasan terhadap air dan pada saat pendinginan dijumpai secara konsisten terjadi penurunan temperatur air dengan penurunan temperatur tertinggi terjadi pada titik waktu pendinginan 0 sampai 2 menit dengan besarnya perbedaan penuruan temperatur 14.5 OC dan untuk koefisien korelasi didapatkan nilai tertinggi pada proses pendinginan rxy = -0.9374 (Korelasi negatif) yang dibanding dengan Koefisien korelasi untuk proses pemanasan rxy = 0.8788 (Korelasi positif). The heat given to a fluid will cause an increasing temperature of the fluid through heat transfer from the heating source through radiation, convection and coduction heat into the fluid object being heated, In this case water as materil for reasearch which is stored in a stainless steel container with a capacity of 1000 ml. Based on the research it was got that on heating position for 10 minutes found the highest temperature increasing occurred on 94.8 OC and then there was a stagnation in the temperature increasing and a slight decrease on temperature even though the water was still heated and during cooling it was found that the water temperature consistently decreased which is the highest temperature decrease occurred at the cooling time point of 0 to 2 minutes with a temperature decrease diffrenciate of 14.5 OC. Regarding to coefficient of correlation, the highest rate was found on the cooling process rxy = -0.9374 (negative correlation) that compared to the coefficient of correlation for the heating process rxy = 0.8788 (positive correlation) .

Abstract

The effect of machine movement will generate mechanical vibrations and these mechanical vibrations will cause vibration propagation in the air and this will create noise. This noise itself in situations that exceed the threshold will cause discomfort to driver and can have an impact on health. In this research, it was obtained by increasing the engine speed starting from 1000 rpm and increasing at intervals of 200 rpm up to the maximum speed at the position of 2800 rpm. Found that the noise level was obtained from the lowest position of 48 dB which then increased at intervals of 1 - 2 dB up to the maximum position with a noise level of 62 dB. From these two measuring parameters, the level of correlation coefficient between the increase in engine speed and the increase in noise level, rxy = 0.9220, found that a strong positive correlation between these two measuring parameters. With the noise level in the car driving room ranging from 48 – 62 dB, referring to the Minister of Environment (LHK) Regulation No. 7/2009 concerning motor vehicle noise thresholds, the maximum quality standard set is 77 decible (dB) for passenger cars, so the level The noise that arises in the driver's cabin of the car is still in a safe condition for the driver and passengers in the car

Abstract

Gading sub-district is in Datuk Bandar Tanjung Balai sub-district. In Gading sub-district there is Bandar Prosecutor River which flows into the Asahan River. So far, the people who live around that location have taken water from this river to meet their needs. The problem is that the water they consume is not suitable (smelly water, dark color when it rains, mossy). This activity aims to help partners' problems with the installation of water purification equipment. The implementation method begins with assessing the shortcomings of river water purification technology, then a site survey, equipment installation, and unit handover. The results of implementing this service have been realized at partner locations, clean water has been enjoyed by community. The standard of social life, especially the provision of clean water suitable for consumption for cooking, bathing, washing clothes and other needs, can be helped by this service where there are no similar activities in that location.

Abstract

Buntu Bedimbar Village is a village located on Jalan Batang Kuis Pasar VIII, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. The location of this village is a rural area where there are still many fields or rice fields that are used for farming to meet living needs. The urgency of this community service is related to partner problems, namely the absence of tools or technology that can assist in the process of peeling, shelling and chopping corn cobs, all work activities are carried out manually which in the end prolongs the work process time and has an impact on obtaining final results that are not optimal. The solution is to create a mechanical system of tools/machines for peeling, shelling and chopping corn cobs, to speed up the work process of corn farmers. The aim of this community service is to help solve problems faced by partners, namely by applying appropriate technology in the form of a multifunctional machine combining shellers, shellers and corn cob choppers using mechanical power that has been assembled in the mechanization of one work system. The implementation method is by coming directly to the location. partners, discussions look for partners' problems and then provide a solution, namely by making a multifunctional tool with a combination of mechanical system peeler, sheller and corn chopper. This tool works once to produce 3 outputs in the form of (corn peeler, corn sheller and corn cob chopper). The results of community service activities that have been carried out to date show that the community can accept this activity well, the tools provided can function and can help ease the work of corn farmers, especially during the harvest season.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan media pembelajaran kreatif bagi guru sekolah dasar ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat belajar siswa yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya variasi dan kreativitas dalam penyampaian materi pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran yang menarik dan interaktif diyakini mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan partisipasi siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan secara daring melalui aplikasi Zoom pada tanggal 2 Maret 2025 dengan melibatkan 32 peserta guru sekolah dasar dari berbagai latar belakang. Metode pelatihan dilakukan melalui sesi pemaparan materi, demonstrasi pembuatan media pembelajaran kreatif, serta praktik langsung yang didampingi oleh fasilitator. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan guru dalam membuat media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan menarik, serta peningkatan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya penggunaan media kreatif untuk mendukung minat belajar siswa. Pelatihan ini memberikan kontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dasar dan membuka peluang bagi guru untuk terus mengembangkan metode pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan menyenangkan. Kesimpulannya, pengembangan media pembelajaran kreatif merupakan strategi penting dalam upaya peningkatan minat belajar siswa dan kualitas pendidikan dasar secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the characteristics of the dynamic load that occurs on the beam clamped at one end and the other end in a free condition. At one end of the rod a load is given so that it will cause a larger dynamic load on the rod. The method used to analyze the dynamics of this cantilever rod structure uses the Finite Element Method. The cantilever rod will be divided into four elements and has 10 nodal points, vibrating nodes are occured at node 3 until node 10. By using stiffness and mass matrix analysis, found that the largest deflection value is obtained at node 9 with a deflection value of 0.2555 m and the largest angular rotation occurs at node number 10, which is 0.0958 rad. By assuming the weight of the cantilever bar is ignored, the reaction at the clamped rod support is obtained equal to the magnitude of the load given at node 9 in the opposite direction to keep the rod prevent from falling, which is -100 N. The farer distance of nodal point from the end of the bar that is given the load then the smaller the deflection that occurs, including the angular rotation will also be smaller. The selection of beam materials, beam dimensions, beam installation methods and determination of the external load greatly determine the safety factor of the cantilever beam construction.
