Abstract

Al Manshuriyah Islamic Boarding School, as a traditional Islamic educational institution, plays a strategic role in maintaining the transmission of Islamic values. This boarding school is known for its unique integration of classical religious curricula with modern teaching methods, such as the use of information technology for teaching yellow books and Arabic, as well as additional skills programs that support global competency. The modernization process, characterized by technological developments and curriculum changes, requires Islamic boarding schools to adapt without losing their traditional identity. This study aims to analyze the forms of resistance and adaptation of traditional Islamic education to modernization at Al Manshuriyah Islamic Boarding School. This study is a field study with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews with boarding school administrators, ustaz, and students, as well as documentation studies. The results show that resistance is demonstrated through efforts to maintain the yellow book teaching system, the pattern of kiai-santri relationships, and the preservation of the boarding school's religious traditions. Meanwhile, adaptation is realized through the integration of the formal curriculum, the use of technology in learning, and the development of students' skills according to the needs of the times. These findings confirm that Islamic boarding schools do not completely reject modernization, but rather select and recontextualize it to align with Islamic values and the pesantren's character. This research is expected to provide theoretical contributions to the study of Islamic education and serve as a practical reference for pesantren administrators in managing change wisely and sustainably.

Abstract

This research is motivated by low student learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) lessons, caused by the use of conventional learning methods and the lack of use of interactive learning media. This condition results in low student activity, attention, and participation in the learning process. This study aims to determine the application of the Duck Race interactive learning media on the Online Stopwatch website, analyze changes in student learning motivation, and identify supporting factors and obstacles in its use. This study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, implemented in two cycles: Cycle I and Cycle II, with seventh-grade students of SMP Islam Plus Hidayatut Thullab, Central Lampung as the subjects. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis employed an interactive analysis model that encompasses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the application of the Duck Race interactive learning media increased student learning motivation from Cycle I to Cycle II. In Cycle I, student learning motivation began to increase but was not evenly distributed. However, in Cycle II, significant improvements were seen, indicated by increased student activity, attention, enthusiasm, and participation in learning. Furthermore, the use of this media can create a more active, engaging, and enjoyable learning environment. The successful implementation of this learning media is supported by the availability of technological facilities, teacher creativity, and student enthusiasm. However, there are challenges in its implementation, such as limited learning time and internet connection stability. Therefore, the interactive learning media Duck Race can be an effective, innovative alternative to increase student motivation in Islamic Religious Education (ISE)..

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Thoriqoh Naqsyabandiyah Kholidiyah in improving the religious spirituality of students at the Baitul Mustaqim Punggur Islamic Boarding School, Central Lampung. This study was motivated by the decline in morals and weak spiritual values among students, so that more focused and sustainable religious guidance is needed. The validity of the data is maintained through source triangulation techniques, using qualitative research methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The subjects of the study were female students who actively participated in the amaliah Thoriqoh Naqsyabandiyah. The results showed that the concept of religious spirituality was built through the practice of heart awareness (dzikrullah), self-control (muraqabah), suluk, tawajjuh, rabithah, as well as the habit of living simply and disciplined. This process contributes to the formation of strong religious characters in students, such as sincerity, patience, humility, and responsibility. The practices of the Naqsyabandiyah Thoriqoh (Islamic teachings) play a role in fostering inner peace, enhancing religious discipline, and training students' self-control. These practices also encourage more religious behavioral changes and instill important values in daily life. This study concludes that the Naqsyabandiyah Thoriqoh is an effective form of spiritual development in shaping character and strengthening the religious spirituality of students in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the character development patterns of female students at the Darul Hidayah Al-Anshori Islamic Boarding School in West Tulang Bawang, Lampung, and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. Using Thomas Lickona's theory, which encompasses three dimensions of character (moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action), this qualitative study employed a case study approach. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of the female students and their female mentors. The results indicate that character development has succeeded in developing the moral knowing aspect through the study of Islamic scriptures and the moral action aspect through the habituation of worship and dormitory discipline. However, the moral feeling aspect still requires strengthening so that the female students perform good deeds based on conscience, not merely compliance with sanctions. The main supporting factors are the religious environment and the role models of educators, while obstacles arise from the heterogeneity of the students' backgrounds and the influence of the external environment.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in shaping the social transformation attitudes of students, not only in the ritual aspect but also in their concern for the Islamic boarding school environment. PAI learning is expected to foster social awareness and collective responsibility of students through the internalization of religious values in everyday life. This study aims to analyze the planning, implementation, and evaluation of PAI learning in shaping the social transformation attitudes of students at the Bumi Sholawat Safinatun Najaa Islamic Boarding School. The study used a qualitative field approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques, as well as data analysis through reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the learning plan has included the value of social responsibility through the material of fiqh thaharah and morals, but it is still normative. The implementation of learning uses the bandongan, sorogan, lecture, and exemplary methods, but the internalization of social values is still instructive. Evaluation is carried out through observation of student behavior without formal instruments. The attitude of social transformation of students is seen in participation in environmental cleanliness activities, although it is still influenced by Islamic boarding school rules. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning contributes to shaping the social awareness of students, but requires strengthening contextual and participatory approaches so that religious values can encourage independent and sustainable changes in social behavior

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the teaching patterns of teachers in supporting the religious development of children with special needs (autism) in Fiqh learning for third-grade students at MIS Terpadu Nurul Qodiri. The background of this study is based on the important role of teachers in inclusive education, especially in guiding children with autism who have different characteristics and learning needs compared to regular students. This research employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the teaching patterns applied by teachers are adaptive and individualized, using personal approaches, visual media, direct practice, and repetition of material to enhance students’ understanding. In addition, teachers simplify the learning materials and provide intensive guidance according to the needs of children with autism. The religious development of students is reflected in three aspects: cognitive (understanding simple Fiqh materials), psychomotor (ability to perform worship practices such as ablution and prayer), and affective (religious attitudes developed through habituation and teacher modeling). In conclusion, the teaching patterns of teachers play a significant role in supporting the religious development of children with special needs. Appropriate, flexible, and student-centered teaching patterns can gradually improve the understanding and practice of religious values among students with autism.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of cultural harmony in strengthening local wisdom within the community of Tiuh Tohou Village, Tulang Bawang Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that cultural harmony plays a significant role in preserving and reinforcing local wisdom, which is reflected in social interactions based on tolerance, mutual cooperation, deliberation, and mutual respect. These values contribute to strengthening social solidarity and community integration, as well as serving as an effective medium for transmitting cultural values to younger generations. This process is supported by the active role of traditional leaders and the collective awareness of the community. However, globalization and technological development present challenges by encouraging individualistic lifestyles and reducing youth participation in traditional cultural activities. Therefore, cultural harmony functions not only as a mechanism of social cohesion but also as an adaptive filter that enables local wisdom to remain relevant amid the dynamics of modernization.
