Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Islamic educational values contained in the punggahan tradition and its contribution to the life of the community in Kaliasin Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung Regency. The punggahan tradition is a form of local wisdom practiced by Muslim communities in Indonesia, carried out before the arrival of Ramadan as an expression of gratitude and spiritual preparation. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving religious leaders, community leaders, and local residents as informants. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the punggahan tradition in Kaliasin Village is implemented through several stages: grave visitation, religious gatherings and collective prayers, communal meals (kenduri), social interaction and mutual forgiveness, and environmental cleaning activities. Each of these stages reflects Islamic educational values, including aqidah (faith in Allah), ibadah (worship practices such as prayer, tahlil, and religious study), and akhlaq (moral values such as mutual forgiveness, cooperation, and togetherness). The contribution of Islamic educational values within the punggahan tradition is significant in shaping a religious, harmonious, and morally grounded society. This tradition serves not only as cultural heritage but also as an effective non-formal Islamic educational medium that instills spiritual, social, and moral values directly in community life.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in shaping adolescent morals in Sukatani Village, Kalianda District, South Lampung Regency. The research is motivated by the declining quality of adolescent morals amid rapid globalization and technological advancement, even in rural areas. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Subjects included religious leaders, educators, parents, and adolescents. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman's interactive model: reduction, display, and verification. Results indicate that IRE implementation occurs through formal and non-formal channels, including school learning, TPA activities, youth religious gatherings, and family roles. This implementation positively impacts moral formation, evidenced by increased worship awareness, politeness, and improved social interaction. Supporting factors include a religious community environment, the role of religious leaders, and community religious activities. Inhibiting factors include limited parental involvement, negative social media influence, and weak inter-institutional coordination. The study concludes that IRE plays a vital role in adolescent moral formation, yet stronger synergy between schools, families, and communities is essential for optimal outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the impact of online games on the spirituality of seventh-grade students in the Aqidah Akhlak (Islamic Aqidah) subject at MTs Manbaul Ulum Gaya Baru II. The development of digital technology has led to increased use of online games among students. This phenomenon has created various problems, particularly related to learning behavior and the development of students' spirituality in their daily lives. Some students tend to spend more time playing online games, neglecting their obligations to study, worship, and their responsibilities as students. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation. The study subjects were seventh-grade students using a saturated sampling technique. The results showed that online games have both positive and negative impacts on students. Positive impacts include improved concentration, teamwork, and foreign language vocabulary. However, negative impacts were more prevalent, such as decreased concentration in learning, playing until late at night, lack of discipline, and reduced awareness of fulfilling their obligations to study and worship. Therefore, supervision and guidance from teachers and parents are needed so that students are able to use technology wisely and balance learning activities, playing, and developing spirituality in everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the teaching patterns of teachers in supporting the religious development of children with special needs (autism) in Fiqh learning for third-grade students at MIS Terpadu Nurul Qodiri. The background of this study is based on the important role of teachers in inclusive education, especially in guiding children with autism who have different characteristics and learning needs compared to regular students. This research employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the teaching patterns applied by teachers are adaptive and individualized, using personal approaches, visual media, direct practice, and repetition of material to enhance students’ understanding. In addition, teachers simplify the learning materials and provide intensive guidance according to the needs of children with autism. The religious development of students is reflected in three aspects: cognitive (understanding simple Fiqh materials), psychomotor (ability to perform worship practices such as ablution and prayer), and affective (religious attitudes developed through habituation and teacher modeling). In conclusion, the teaching patterns of teachers play a significant role in supporting the religious development of children with special needs. Appropriate, flexible, and student-centered teaching patterns can gradually improve the understanding and practice of religious values among students with autism.

Abstract

Literacy is a crucial indicator in determining the quality of education, encompassing not only the ability to read and write but also the capacity to understand and critically analyze information. In the Islamic perspective, literacy has a spiritual dimension rooted in the command of iqra’; however, its implementation in primary education institutions still faces various challenges, particularly the low level of students’ reading interest. This phenomenon is also found at MIS Terpadu Nurul Qodiri, where literacy activities have not optimally fostered students’ reading interest. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic literacy in strengthening the reading interest of third-grade students from the perspective of Nurcholish Madjid’s thought. This research employs a qualitative approach with a field research design. The research subjects include the principal, teachers, students, and parents, who were selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the implementation of Islamic literacy has been carried out through habitual activities such as reading the Qur’an and Islamic texts before learning begins; however, it has not been optimal in improving students’ reading interest. This is due to the lack of systematic planning, limited availability of engaging literacy media, and monotonous teaching methods. In addition, program evaluation has not been conducted in a structured manner and does not yet reflect the humanistic approach proposed by Nurcholish Madjid, which emphasizes the development of critical awareness, active student participation, and contextual learning. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a more innovative, structured, and sustainable Islamic literacy program to enhance students’ reading interest and foster a critical and reflective literacy culture

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of cultural harmony in strengthening local wisdom within the community of Tiuh Tohou Village, Tulang Bawang Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that cultural harmony plays a significant role in preserving and reinforcing local wisdom, which is reflected in social interactions based on tolerance, mutual cooperation, deliberation, and mutual respect. These values contribute to strengthening social solidarity and community integration, as well as serving as an effective medium for transmitting cultural values to younger generations. This process is supported by the active role of traditional leaders and the collective awareness of the community. However, globalization and technological development present challenges by encouraging individualistic lifestyles and reducing youth participation in traditional cultural activities. Therefore, cultural harmony functions not only as a mechanism of social cohesion but also as an adaptive filter that enables local wisdom to remain relevant amid the dynamics of modernization.
