Abstract

achieving palm oil productivity. Monitoring of production achievement is visualized in a map. The purpose of this study is analyze spatially and temporally of achieving palm oil productivity. Productivity achievement are calculated from the percentage of actual productivity against the company's plan production from 2016 - 2020. Oil palm plantation blocks with high production achievements (>90%) are visualized in green, medium production (70-89%) are visualized in yellow, and low production (<70%) are visualized in red. This research was conducted at Sepantaian Estate of PT. Bumitama Gunajaya Abadi, Kotawaringin Lama District, West Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, in August - October 2022. The Sepantaian Estate oil palm plantation production achievement map can visualize data spatially on the condition of the 4 Divisions and temporally visualize the condition of production achievement in 2016-2020. The temporal map of palm oil production achievements shows that the lowest production achievements occurred in 2016 and the highest production achievements in 2020. Spatially, it is known that Division III is the division with the lowest production achievements in 2016 and 2017. Maps of oil palm plantation production achievements can be used for monitoring, evaluation and input to plantation management in making decisions in managing oil palm plantations.

Abstract

The extreme weather condition El Nino can cause Indonesia to experience a prolonged dry season, while La Nina causes a prolonged rainy season. These conditions affect the availability of water in oil palm plantations and affect the physiological processes of oil palm. This research aims to compare the NDVI index and SAVI index using Landsat 8 satellite imagery in the oil palm plantations of PT. Wanapotensi Guna during El Nino and La Nina. Landsat 8 satellite imagery recorded in August 2019 describes El Nino conditions and recorded in August 2020 describes La Niña conditions in the study area were downloaded from the USGS website. The NDVI and SAVI indices were analyzed using ArcGIS 10.5 software. The research results show the value of the NDVI index and SAVI index in the oil palm plantation area of ​​PT. Wanapotesi Guna has a value that is not much different in El Nino and La Nina conditions. The NDVI index value in El Nino conditions has a range of 0.07-0.46 and in La Nina conditions has a range of 0.13-0.44. Likewise, the SAVI index value in El Nino conditions has a range of 0.11-0.70 and in La Nina conditions has a range of 0.20-0.69. So it can be concluded that the NDVI index and SAVI index obtained from Landsat 8 satellite imagery cannot describe significant differences in index values ​​in oil palm plantation areas due to differences in the extreme weather conditions of El Nino and La Nina.

Abstract

Kegiatan P5 pada kurikulum merdeka diharapkan dapat menanamkan karakter pada pribadi peserta didik berdasarkan nilai-nilai Pancasila. Gaya hidup berkelanjutan merupakan salah satu tema dalam kegiatan P5. Pengenalan pertanian pada anak merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang termasuk dalam gaya hidup berkelanjutan perlu diajarkan sedini mungkin. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pengalaman bagi anak untuk mengenal berbagai media tanam, cara menanam tanaman di berbagai media tanam, dan cara merawatnya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di SD Pedagogia Yogyakarta. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan memberikan ceramah kepada siswa kelas 1 tentang macam-macam media tanam serta penyiapan media sebelum menanam. Selanjutnya siswa diajak menaman tanaman hias menggunakan berbagai media tanam. Setiap anak memiliki tanggung jawab untuk merawat tanamann masing-masing. Melalui kegiatan ini siswa dapat mengenal berbagai macam media tanam, mengetahui perlakuan persiapan penanaman dengan berbagai media tanam, serta dapat menanam dan merawat tanaman hias dengan berbagai media tanam.

Abstract

Weed control during replanting activities is an important activity. In general, weed control was done using a knapsack sprayer, but currently weed control can also be done using a drone sprayer. This research was conducted to compare the effectiveness and efficiency of weed control using knapsack sprayers and drone sprayers. This research compares the application of knapsack sprayers and drone sprayers in controlling weeds during replanting of oil palm plantations which includes the time required for the weeds to die, the duration of time required for spraying, and the costs required. The data obtained were analyzed using the independent T test. The results of the research show that using a drone sprayer to control weeds during replanting is more efficient in terms of time and cost than using a knapsack sprayer, while in terms of effectiveness in killing weeds there is no real difference between both. Drone sprayers provide a better alternative for weed control when replanting in oil palm plantations.

Abstract

Limbah rumah tangga yang berasal dari aktivitas dapur biasanya menempati urutan teratas sisa konsumsi keluarga. Sampah sisa makanan merupakan sampah organik yang diolah kembali menjadi suatu yang bermanfaat bila dikelola dengan tepat juga menekan polusi di lingkungan serta mengurangi jumlah (kuantitas) sampah yang dibuang ke TPS atau TPA. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi, wawasan, serta skill bagi warga terkait pengelolaan sampah organik di rumah sehingga dapat membantu menurunkan kuantitas sampah rumah tangga yang dibuang ke TPS maupun TPA. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Kembaran RT 03 Kelurahan Tamantirto Kapanewon Kasihan Kapanewon Bantul pada Oktober 2024 diikuti oleh 30 orang warga. Kegiatan diawali dengan survey lokasi, pemaparan materi, showing maggot, praktek pengolahan sampah dengan maggot, pemberian maggot, monitoring, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa peserta antusias menggunakan maggot sebagai pengolah sampah organik di rumah dan mulai terbangun kebiasan memilah sampah di rumah. Selain itu, proses pengolahan sampah yang dilakukan maggot sangat cepat sehingga tempat sampah jadi tidak berbau. Warga berharap mendapatkan pendampingan sehingga kegiatan terus berlanjut dengan membentuk kelompok baru untuk pengolahan sampah organik rumah tangga. Dari kegiatan dapat disimpulkan bahwa maggot menjadi solusi praktis untuk pengolahan sampah rumah tangga. Dengan metode ini, tidak hanya mengurangi dampak lingkungan tetapi juga mendapatkan manfaat lebih dari sampah organik, serta mengurangi jumlah (kuantitas) sampah yang dibuang ke TPS maupun TPA.

Abstract

Oil palm plantations are one of the important carbon stocks for climate change mitigation because of their ability to store carbon and absorb free carbon from the air. This study aims to calculate carbon stocks at various stages of oil palm growth. The samples in this study were oil palm producing plants with various age classes; young plants (3-8 years), juvenile plants (9-14 years), and old plants (> 21 years) taken with a sample of 3 plots with 1 plot of 10 trees each in each age class variation using a quadrant (sample plot) plot size of 20 x 60 m with 3 replications. The sampling of understory vegetation was carried out in a measurement plot with a size of 1 m x 1 m as much as 1 sample placed in each plot of oil palm stand biomass measurement. The study was conducted using a carbon stock measurement method with a non-destructive approach using an allometric equation. In young, juvenile, and old oil palm plants. on sample plots according to the predetermined age groups. The research samples were selected by purposive sampling. In each sample, carbon stocks were measured in the oil palm plants and floor vegetation carbon stocks. The results of the study showed that carbon stock analysis showed a close relationship with plant age. Oil palm plant carbon stocks continued to increase with increasing plant age. Therefore, it can be concluded that oil palm biomass increases with increasing age in young plants (3.77 tons/ha), adolescents (12.61tons/ha), and old (>21 years, 167.82 tons/ha).

Abstract

Oil palm productivity is affected by many factors, one of which is weeds that can cause the oil palm productivity to not be maximized. Psychotria serpens is an example of a weed in oil palm plantations. This weed grows creeping in the circle and path so it disrupts oil palm management. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of isopropyl amine glyphosate, triclopyr and glufosinate herbicides in controlling Psychotria serpens weeds in oil palm plantations. This research was conducted at PT. Bahana Karya Semesta, Sungai Mentawak Estate, Air Hitam District, Sarolangun Regency, Jambi from March to April 2023. The study used a factorial experiment consisting of 2 factors and arranged in a completely randomized design with 3 replications. The first factor was the type of active ingredient consisting of isopropyl amine glyphosate, triclopyr, and glufosinate, the second factor is the dose of herbicide formulation which is 0.15ml/m2, 0.30ml/m2, 0.45ml/m2, and 0.6ml/m2. Observations were made for 5 weeks. The results of observations were analyzed using oneway anova which was further tested using DMRT 5%. The results was Glyphosate and Glufosinate at all formulation doses could not control Psychotria serpens. Triclopyr at formulation doses 0.15ml/m2 and 0.30ml/m2 was not able to control Psychotria serpens, and at formulation doses 0.45ml/m2 and 0.6ml/m2 showed death in Psychotria serpens. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the best type of active ingredient in controlling Psychotria serpens weeds was the active ingredient Triclopyr with a formulation dose 0.45ml/m2.

Abstract

Oil palm nursery is generally conducted through a two-stage system, namely the pre-nursery stage and the main nursery stage. In the pre-nursery stage, seedlings require watering of 0.1–0.3 liters per day with a watering frequency of twice daily, in the morning and evening. Meanwhile, shading serves to protect against high sunlight intensity. This study aims to investigate the effect of light intensity and watering frequency on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery stage. The study was conducted from June 2024 to September 2024. It employed a factorial experiment method arranged in a split-plot design with two factors. The first factor (main plot) was light intensity, consisting of three levels: 3,500, 2,000, and 1,000 foot candles. The second factor (subplot) was watering frequency, consisting of three levels: twice a day, once a day, and once every two days with a water volume of 200 ml/day. Each treatment was replicated four times. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), and if significant differences were found, the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was applied. The ANOVA results showed a significant interaction between light intensity and watering frequency on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery stage, specifically in the parameter of seedling fresh weight. Light intensities of 1,000 and 2,000 foot candles resulted in taller seedlings compared to 3,500 foot candles, while a light intensity of 3,500 foot candles influenced root growth. Watering frequencies of twice a day and once a day showed better seedling growth compared to watering once every two days.
