Abstract

Maternal Mortality (MMR) remains a major health problem globally and in Indonesia. Complications during the postpartum period, such as bleeding, infection, and eclampsia, significantly contribute to the increase in MMR. Comprehensive and continuous midwifery care during the postpartum period is necessary to detect complications early and support maternal recovery. This case report aims to provide postpartum midwifery care to Mrs. E and document it in a SOAP format. Care was provided to Mrs. E, 34 years old, G3P2A0, 6 hours postpartum, with a history of normal, spontaneous delivery and second-degree perineal laceration in Kajhu Village, sub-district Baitussalam, thedistrict of Aceh Besar. Subjective data indicated that the mother still experienced abdominal cramps, body aches, and cramps after delivery, and her breast milk flowed smoothly. Objective examination results indicated that the mother was in good general condition, with blood pressure of 100/70 mmHg, fundal height of two finger-widths below the umbilicus, palpable uterine contractions, and normal lochia rubra. The care provided included education on cramps and mobilization techniques, postpartum exercises, perineal wound care, breastfeeding counseling, and education on postpartum danger signs. The results showed that the mother understood all the counseling provided. Comprehensive midwifery care during the first postpartum visit is expected to support the mother's recovery and prevent complications.

Abstract

The maternal mortality rate (MMR) remains a key indicator in assessing the quality of maternal healthcare. Comprehensive, high-quality antenatal care is essential for early detection of complications and for improved maternal and fetal health during pregnancy. This case report aims to provide midwifery care to a pregnant woman and document it in a midwifery SOAP note. The care was provided to Mrs. A, 37 years old, G2P1A0, at 27 weeks and 4 days of gestation in Teubaluy Village, Sub-district Darul Kamal, The regency of Aceh Besar. Subjective indicated that the mother had complained of back pain for the past week and had a history of cesarean delivery. Objective examination results indicated that the mother's and fetus's general condition was good, with blood pressure 120/80 mmHg, fetal heart rate 139 beats/minute, and hemoglobin level 13.6 g/dL. The midwifery care provided included education on pregnancy exercises to reduce back pain, recommendations for adequate rest, continued consumption of iron tablets, nutritional counseling, and education on pregnancy danger signs. Results of the care indicated that the mother understood the counseling provided and was able to reiterate the pregnancy exercise techniques taught. Comprehensive midwifery care is expected to increase maternal comfort during pregnancy and reduce the risk of complications.

Abstract

TB during pregnancy not only impacts the mother's health but also the health of the fetus she carries until the baby grows into adulthood. Impacts on the fetus include miscarriage, intrauterine death, stillbirth, low birth weight, premature birth, and congenital TB. Meanwhile, the impact on the baby after birth and toddlerhood includes impaired growth and development, making them susceptible to severe TB symptoms

Abstract

Nutritional problems commonly experienced by toddlers in Indonesia include stunting, undernutrition, and severe malnutrition. These conditions negatively impact toddlers, both in the short and long term. In 2024, there were 434 cases of undernutrition and 9 cases of severe malnutrition in Central Aceh Regency. One of the sub-districts with the highest incidence of undernutrition and severe malnutrition is the Atu Lintang District. Merah Pupuk Village has a high incidence of undernutrition and severe malnutrition. In 2023, there were 7 cases of undernutrition and 1 case of severe malnutrition in this village. While this village produces avocados, they are not used as supplementary food for toddlers. The goal of this activity was to increase public awareness of the health benefits of avocados and to learn how to properly process avocados to improve nutrition for toddlers. The activity was held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Merah Pupuk Village, Atu Lintang District, Central Aceh Regency. The event was attended by 63 participants, including village heads and officials, village cadres, mothers of toddlers, midwifery students from the Central Aceh Department of Health, and the community service team. The event began with an opening speech by Reje, followed by counseling, demonstrations of avocado juice and avocado pudding making, and the handover of 43 blenders to the mothers of toddlers. The event went smoothly, with the mothers gaining increased knowledge about the benefits of avocados, and they promised to make avocado juice every day for their toddlers using the blenders provided.
