Abstract

This study aims to determine the economic sector and the agricultural sector basis, determine sub-sector basis in the agricultural sector which has fast growth and competitiveness both, and as well as knowing the agricultural sector income multiplier in Brebes. The basic method used in this research is descriptive. The data used are secondary data. Method of data analysis used are LQ, shift share and income multipliers. The results showed the agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors is a sector basis. Horticultural crops sub sector, agriculture and hunting services sub sector and the forestry sub sector is a sub sector basis. Sub sector, which has a rapidly growing sub sector are horticultural crops, livestock, plantation and agriculture and hunting services sub sector. Sub sector that are competitive both sub sector are food crops, forestry, agriculture and hunting services, plantation and fisheries sub sector. Agricultural income multiplier for the year 2016-2020 had an average value of 2,8540, meaning that every happened increase agricultural incomes by Rp 1 then going to increase total revenue of Rp 2,8540.

Abstract

Water shortages during the dry season are the main problem for rice farmers in Pruwatan Village, Brebes District, Central Java. Currently, many rice fields in Pruwatan Village are rain-fed. This condition has been caused by natural disasters since 2010, which have resulted in dams breaking and landslides in irrigation canal cliffs. To meet water needs, this community service activity has built a solar-powered pump installation to raise water from the Pemali River that flows through Pruwatan Village to be channeled into the irrigation canal. The solar-powered pump uses an off-grid model (independent electricity without a PLN network connection) and without batteries. The pump used is a submersible type. The electrical energy to drive the pump comes 100% from the installed solar panels. The main device of the solar-powered pump consists of a series of 10,000 Wp solar panels, two units of 3 HP built-in inverters, two units of 3 HP submersible pumps, and a safety circuit (MCB). The pumps used are two 3 HP submersible pumps installed in parallel. The pump raises water from the Pemali River to the irrigation channel about 120 meters away with an elevation of 30 meters. The built-in inverter has a short circuit safety device, over/under voltage and undervoltage detection, and easy and user-friendly operation.

Abstract

The Rice (Oryza sativa . L) is the main crop in Indonesia, almost half of Indonesia populasion consumes rice as a staple food. Especially rice, efforts need to be made to increase rice production, currently, it is hampered by pest attacks which can reduce agricultural production. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of farmers, (2) know the factors that influence rice production, and (3) analyze the level of efficiency of techniques for using production factors in business farming. The research was conducted on rice crops in Karangklesem village, Pakuncen sub-district. Banyumas Regency, Respondent samples taken in this research were the purposive method, sampling was taken using a random sampling technique of 80 respondents. This research was conducted from July 2021 to October 2022. The results of this study show that average farmers carry out business farming on a land area of more than 1 hectare with farming experience of more than 15 years. The level of rice farming in Karangklesem village is technically efficient with an average technical efficiency level of 0.94 or 94 %. Production factors that have a real influence on rice farming production with integrated pest management (IPM) are chemical fertilizers, botanical pesticides, and chemical pesticides. The lowest level of efficiency of rice farming techniques was 0.81 and the highest level of efficiency was 0.99. average farmers have a technical efficiency level of 0.94 which means that rice production with the implementation of integrated pest management (IPM) reaches 94% of the potential rice production and there is still 6 % to increase production. Increase production with an average technical efficiency of 0.94. this shows that rice farming groups in Karangklesem village are profitable and farmers can still increase their incomes, and increase technical efficiency.
