Abstract

Banggai Banggai Yam which has a fairly high carbohydrate content can be used as an alternative food source. Therefore, this plant can be developed as one of the superior commodities for additional food besides rice. The most fundamental problem with Banggai Yam t this time is that Banggai Yam an only be cultivated once a year. so researchers tried to conduct research using hormones or plant growth regulators (PGRs) in plants to support the process of accelerating the growth of Banggai Yam  lants. The level of PGR absorption by plants is also determined by the duration of soaking the cuttings. For this reason, this study aims to determine the effect of the duration of tuber soaking on the growth of Banggai Yam. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 4 treatments of PGR Hormax (W) soaking time with a concentration of 6 mL/L of water consisting of W0 (control), W1 (20 minutes/6mL/L of water), W2 (40 minutes/6mL/L of water), W3 (60 minutes/6mL/L of water). Each treatment was repeated 6 times. The results were analysed using ANOVA using package ‘stats’ and displayed in diagram form using package ‘ggplot2’. Data were analysed using RStudio 2023.12.0 software. The results showed that the W2 treatment (40 minutes/6mL/L water) gave a real effect on the sprouting speed of Banggai yam plants. The results of this study, can be used for cultivators of Banggai Yam, because with these results it will be able to help them to increase the speed of sprouting of Banggai Yam plants.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the land suitability analysis of elephant grass, setaria and legume groups, and knowledge of potential land suitability and improvement efforts. The method used is the matching method to obtain results from land suitability evaluation, land characteristics and quality data with land suitability criteria for elephant grass plants (Pennisetum purpureum SCHUM.), setaria plants (setaria sphacelata), and legume group plants. The research results obtained were at point 1 with marginal criteria (S3, war). Next, point 2 and point 4 get marginal criteria (S3, nr,na), and point 3 gets marginal criteria (S3,wa,na,na). This is due to several limiting factors at the research location, namely, drainage, wet saturation, and N-Total and K2O which are classified as very low (SR). Efforts to improve the land include improving the drainage system, such as constructing drainage channels, liming and applying fertilizer to the land of the Tandos Nursery Center with a medium to high level of tillage. so that based on these improvement efforts, potential land suitability for elephant grass, setaria and legume groups is obtained at points 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the land of the Tandos Nursery Center, Bumi Beringin Village, North Luwuk District, namely at points 1 and 3 of the S1 criteria ( very suitable) at points 2 and 4 with criteria S1 (very suitable).

Abstract

Paddy rice is one of the most widely consumed staple foods around the world including the Banggai Regency area. Thus, the role of farmers is very important in farming to maintain the availability of food. Apart from that, the income of farmers is also important in determining the level of welfare of these rice farmers. Thus, this study aims to determine the role of farmer groups and determine the income of paddy rice farmers in Bantayan Village, East Luwuk District, Banggai Regency. The research was conducted from June to August 2023 in Bantayan Village, East Luwuk District, Banggai Regency. The determination of this location was done deliberately with the consideration that Bantayan Village is one of the rice-producing villages. This research uses Likert scale and income analysis methods. The results obtained, namely, the role of farmer groups in disseminating information obtained (73.14%), the provision of facilities and means of production (70.9%), planning activities (75.5%), the application of five farming technologies (70.9%), and cooperation with KUD institutions (88%), which means all the activities of rice paddy farmer groups in the village of Bantayan District East Luwuk classified as very active and high category. In addition, based on the analysis of income from the total income of farmers in Bantayan Village, East Luwuk Subdistrict obtained from the reduction between total revenue (TR) of IDR. 28,656,000 and total costs (TC) of IDR. 2,441,229, then the income (π) = TR - TC is IDR. 26,214,771. thus, rice paddy farming can still be continued to be cultivated because the amount of income obtained is quite high and profitable.

Abstract

Soil chemical analysis is the measurement and evaluation of the chemical components present in soil. This study aims to examine the effect of differences in land use on soil chemical properties. This research was conducted from May to July 2024 in South Batui District. Soil sampling locations were based on land use, namely food crops, horticulture, and plantations. The data used in this study were analyzed through laboratory analysis and then processed using Microsoft Excel 2013. The results of this study are that the chemical properties of the soil in several land uses in Batui Selatan District have a significant effect on several soil chemical properties including C-organic and N-total. Meanwhile, for other soil chemical properties pH, P2O5, K-Total, CEC and KB do not have a significant effect on the use of chili, corn and cocoa land. This is influenced by different land management in each land use. Land use in Batui Selatan District is not optimal, because farmers do not clearly understand the needs of plants in each location. To increase soil fertility in various types of land uses, there are several ways that can be done including the addition of organic materials, the use of appropriate fertilizers (both organic and inorganic), proper soil processing, improvement of drainage and irrigation systems, and the application of diverse planting patterns (crop rotation).
