Abstract

Changes in the context of education are always made in order to improve the quality of education output. One learning model that can be applied is thematic learning with a scientific approach. A scientific approach is a learning process that uses a scientific thought process. Where learning is very important for students to find and build their own knowledge that is fun and meaningful. The purpose of this research is to get a picture of the implementation of a scientific approach in thematic learning in class VI SDN 033 Asmi Bandung. This research is a descriptive research. The research subjects in this study were model teachers (lecturers who teach in schools) and class VI A students at SDN 033 Asmi. Data collection tools in this study are interview guidelines, observation sheets and study documentation. Data analysis was performed by data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the model teacher had implemented learning using a scientific approach which was carried out through the steps of the activity: 1) observing, 2) asking questions, 3) trying, 4) associating, and 5) communicating. Each step has been implemented well but not always done sequentially on every learning that is done. Thematic learning with a scientific approach has made the learning process more active and enjoyable. So that students really become the center of activity in the learning process that takes place.

Abstract

Literacy of science is very important to be mastered by each individual to be able to adapt to the progress of science and technology in the future. One attempt to improve the ability of science literacy through the analysis of textbooks lessons. The type of research used is descriptive, by collecting data in the form of documentation study. The sample in this research is several pages of analyzed books taken in a random way using multistage sampling technique. The results show 21% of the book presents the aspect of science as a way of thinking. The aspect is presented on the entire theme of the book with various values. In themes 1 and 2 this aspect is often presented that is equal to 71%, and 51%. The following findings show that Book Y simply presents aspects of science as a way of thinking. In other words, Book Y is enough to emphasize material that supports the mastery of the process.

Abstract

Rapid technological and information developments have impacted changes in various lines of life. The big impact that arises from the changes that occur is the decline in the values of the nation's character. The problem solving effort is by providing guidance in improving the ability of educators in shaping the values of the national character of elementary school students. The targets in this activity are the Teacher Working Group (KKG) in SD PBI and KKG in SDN 208 Luginasari. The method used in the form of organizing seminars and workshops on the role of teachers in building national character values to elementary school students. The activity was carried out quite well. Teachers are given debriefing and skills to carry out learning activities that contain character education through traditional game intermediaries. Suggestions for the achievement of the objectives of this activity is that assistance is still needed for the teacher so that the teachers can consistently transform their knowledge and skills in the path that we all expect.
