Abstract

Digital transformation has significantly reshaped education, shifting traditional learning toward more flexible, technology-based, and student-centered approaches. However, limited studies have specifically examined how digital transformation affects the fundamental foundations of education and its implications for educational management. This study aims to analyze the transformation of educational foundations in the digital era, identify challenges faced by educational management, and propose adaptive strategies. Using a qualitative Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this study analyzed literature from Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and SpringerLink published between 2021–2026. From 802 identified articles, 12 met the inclusion criteria through the PRISMA selection process. Findings reveal that digital transformation affects the philosophical, pedagogical, psychological, sociological, and ethical foundations of education. Key challenges include limited infrastructure, unequal technology access, inadequate digital competencies, institutional readiness, leadership issues, and ethical concerns related to artificial intelligence and data privacy. Successful adaptation requires digital leadership, adaptive policies, continuous capacity building, and sustainable technology integration.
