Abstract

The advancement of science and technology demands the use of innovative teaching materials to enhance student engagement and understanding. In the topic of plant tissues, students often experience difficulties in comprehending concepts and distinguishing plant anatomical structures, highlighting the need for interactive and meaningful learning resources. This study aimed to develop an electronic student worksheet (e-LKPD) on plant tissue material based on the Discovery Learning model integrated with the Deep Learning approach for eleventh-grade senior high school students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, implemented up to the Development stage. The product was validated by subject matter and media experts and subsequently subjected to limited trials involving Biology Education students and eleventh-grade senior high school students. Data were analyzed descriptively using a Likert scale. The results indicated that the developed e-LKPD achieved a validity score of 3.25 from subject matter experts and 3.57 from media experts, both categorized as highly valid. The practicality test yielded an average score of 3.5, categorized as highly practical. Therefore, the Discovery Learning-based e-LKPD integrated with the Deep Learning approach is suitable for use as a teaching material in plant tissue learning for eleventh-grade senior high school students.

Abstract

The advancement of technology in education requires the availability of digital learning materials that can support deep learning and enhance students' independent learning. However, the use of innovative digital learning materials in teaching fungi topics at the senior high school level remains limited. This study aimed to develop a Biology e-module based on a deep learning approach for fungi material for tenth-grade senior high school students and to evaluate its validity and quality. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, limited to the analysis, design, and development stages. The product was developed using Canva and Heyzine applications, then validated by media and subject-matter experts and tested on a limited scale involving university students and senior high school students. The results showed that the developed e-module achieved a media validity score of 3.90 and a material validity score of 3.76, with an overall average score of 3.83, categorized as highly valid. The quality assessment of the e-module yielded an overall average score of 3.77, categorized as very good. The limited trial also resulted in an average score of 3.71, which falls into the very good category. Therefore, the Biology e-module based on a deep learning approach for fungi material is considered suitable for use as a digital learning resource for tenth-grade senior high school students.

Abstract

Sonneratia caseolaris (L.) Engl. is a mangrove species with high ecological and economic value; however, its propagation remains constrained by several limitations. Plant tissue culture offers an alternative method for producing large quantities of uniform seedlings, with growth success largely influenced by the application of plant growth regulators. This study aimed to determine the effect of combinations of 2,4-D and BAP on the in vitro growth of pedada seed explants. The research employed an experimental method using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of various concentrations of 2,4-D and BAP. The observed parameters included explant emergence time, explant growth percentage, explant height, and number of leaves. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the combination of 2,4-D and BAP significantly affected all growth parameters of the explants. The treatment consisting of 5 mg/L 2,4-D and 1.5 mg/L BAP produced the best response, with the fastest explant emergence time of 2 days after culture initiation, a 100% explant growth rate, the greatest explant height of 2.76 cm, and the highest number of leaves, reaching 4 leaves per explant. Therefore, the combination of 5 mg/L 2,4-D and 1.5 mg/L BAP was the most effective treatment for promoting the in vitro growth of pedada seed explants.
