Abstract

The innovation of the Head of Madrasah MI Ainul Ulum through the tahfidz program has a very important role because students are in the golden age phase. Theleadership of the head of the madrasah can transform the tahfidz program from just an extracurricular activity to a major part of the curriculum through innovative policies. This study aims to explain the form of innovation carried out by madrasah heads in developing the tahfidz al-qur'an program and the implications of madrasah head innovations on the tahfidz program at MI Ainul Ulum. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study design, where data is collected through direct observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with madrasah heads, teachers, and students. The findings of the study show that (1) the innovations implemented include managerial aspects such as routine monitoring, policies to integrate the Tahsin method to improve the quality of tajweed and makhraj, as well as the creation of a religious and competitive learning atmosphere, (2) the implications of the innovation of the Head of Madrasah significantly increase students' learning motivation and memorization efficiency. The conclusion of the study emphasized that the success of the tahfidz program is highly determined by the ability of madrasah heads to provide constructive feedback, provide adequate facilities, and develop teacher competencies in an ongoing manner.
