Abstract

The economy care day program at SMA Negeri 6 Merangin is designed as a social laboratory to foster students' leadership character while strengthening their social awareness. This study aims to deeply analyze the process of leadership character building and the reinforcement of students' social responsibility through the implementation of this program, as well as to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors in the field. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. The researcher acted as a key instrument directly involved in the committee through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results showed that the division of labor into four strategic divisions proved effective in stimulating students' non-academic competencies with high target achievement rates: the Creativity Division (90%), Entrepreneur Division (88%), Educational Game Division (85%), and Gymnastics Division (84%). Through independent activities in each division, students successfully actualized leadership styles that were solution-oriented, transformational, and morally responsible. The main supporting factors for this program were the high level of independent student participation and full support from the school. Meanwhile, the main obstacle was the limitation of time management between academic tasks and operational preparation
