Abstract

The research purposes of this study are to analyze and examine the effect of transformational leadership style and principal's academic supervision on teachers' professional competence at SD Islam Terpadu Baitul Muslim Way Jepara East Lampung. The research methods used a quantitative approach with explanatory-causal research design. The population consisted of 40 teachers at SDIT Baitul Muslim, with a sample of 40. Data were collected using closed-ended questionnaires measured on a 4-point Likert scale and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, simple and multiple linear regression, t-test, and F-test with the help of JASP application. The research results show that: (1) transformational leadership style has a negative and not significant effect on teachers' professional competence with a t-count value of -0.140 (sig. 0.889 > 0.05) ;(2) principal's academic supervision has a positive and significant effect on teachers' professional competence with a t-count value of 2.672 (sig. 0.011 < 0.05); and (3) transformational leadership style and academic supervision simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on teachers' professional competence with an F-count value of 7.240(sig. 0.002 < 0.05) and a coefficient of determination of 0.281, meaning that 28.1% of the variance in teachers' professional competence is influenced by both independent variables, while the remaining 71.9% is influenced by other factors. The novelty of this study lies ini its simultaneous examinations of the effects of transformational leadership and academic supervision by the principal on teachers’ professional competencies. This approach provides a more comprehensive picture of the interrelationship between the principal’s leadership and supervision in supporting teachers’ professional competencies, particularly in the context of integrated Islamic elementary schools.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the suboptimal understanding of elementary school teachers regarding the Merdeka Curriculum through the deep learning approach, particularly in understanding curriculum concepts, developing learning materials, and implementing meaningful learning. This condition is presumed to be influenced by instructor competence and training methods in teacher professional development activities. This study aims to analyze the effect of instructor competence and training methods, both partially and simultaneously, on teachers’ understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum through the deep learning approach. The study employed a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The population consisted of 158 elementary school teachers in Braja Selebah District, with a sample of 46 teachers selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that instructor competence had a positive and significant effect (t = 4.641; p = 0.000), training methods had a positive and significant effect (t = 7.047; p = 0.000), and both variables simultaneously had a positive and significant effect (F = 40.770; p = 0.000), with R² = 0.655. The novelty lies in examining both variables simultaneously as determinants of teachers’ understanding, highlighting the importance of competent instructors and interactive, contextual, and practice-based training methods.

Abstract

Objective: This research deeply examines the principal's leadership style and its influence on teacher discipline in preparing learning administration at SD Negeri 1 Sri Kencono, Kecamatan Bumi Nabung, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. The purpose is to analyze leadership style, evaluate teachers' administrative discipline levels, and identify this leadership's impact on document preparation. Methods: This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The research subjects include the school principal and teachers. Data analysis applies the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing stages. Results: The principal evidently applies a democratic leadership style focusing on exemplary attitudes, open communication, and academic supervision. Teacher discipline is clearly visible from punctuality, file completeness, procedural adherence, and responsibility. This leadership style significantly encourages increased teacher discipline through modeling and continuous supervision. Novelty: This research contextualizes democratic leadership mechanisms, specifically active modeling, communication, and continuous supervision, as practical solutions to overcome time constraints and teachers' workloads when completing school administrative tasks.

Abstract

Objective: This research analyzes the principal's role and digital leadership in increasing technology use at SDN 11 Rawajitu Utara to achieve effective digital transformation in elementary schools. It aims to evaluate managerial interventions and teachers' technology utilization levels. Methods: A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to obtain authentic field data. Data collection utilized participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, involving the principal and teachers as subjects. Data analysis applied the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. Results: The principal has functioned as a manager by providing adequate digital infrastructure, including 15 laptops, 2 LCD projectors, internet access, and a Smart TV. However, technology utilization remains suboptimal and is dominated by conventional methods due to ICT literacy gaps. Digital transformation requires the principal to act not only as a facilitator, but also as a consistent supervisor. Novelty: This research proposes a specific digital leadership model through the integration of active role-modeling, intensive training, and continuous academic supervision as a concrete solution to overcome literacy gaps and pedagogical constraints among educators in elementary schools.
