Abstract

This study evaluated the development of athletic performance at the D'Rangers Volleyball Club in Surabaya. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving the club chairman, managers, coaches, and athletes. Source triangulation ensured data validity, while analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the club has achieved good performance development, demonstrated by winning the 2025 Surabaya Mayor's Championship. Athlete development is implemented systematically through talent identification, age-based grouping, regular training, and match simulations. The training program is well structured, covering technical, physical, tactical, and mental components across preparation, competition, and transition phases. Although financial management is considered adequate through sponsorships and membership fees, limitations in training facilities and equipment remain. A positive psychosocial environment, characterized by supportive coaches, the absence of seniority, and enjoyable training, further contributes to athlete development. Overall, the D'Rangers Volleyball Club has shown consistent performance growth, although improvements in infrastructure are needed to sustain future achievements.
