Abstract

This research aims to determine the extent to which the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model is implemented and to analyze the increase in student activity and learning outcomes in the Services Management course of the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics, Jambi University using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. This research was carried out in 2 cycles. Data on student learning outcomes is obtained by giving a test (evaluation) in the form of a description of service management material. This research will use a classroom action research design. To achieve the research objectives in this classroom action research, the researcher adopted a design consisting of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. In this research, the data collection technique used is observation technique. The instruments used were pretest and posttest questions. Data analysis of student learning outcomes in the Service Management course was analyzed using descriptive percentage analysis techniques. Student learning outcomes are known from the tests of each cycle. Data on improving student learning outcomes is obtained by using differences, namely comparing the average scores of cycle 1 tests and cycle II tests. The results of the research concluded that students who took the Services Management course at the FEB Jambi University Management Study Program were very diverse in terms of anticipatory learning, difficulty in expressing opinions and minimal use of media, learning methods and their intellectual abilities. The application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in the learning of Service Management courses in the Jambi University FEB Management Study Program can be a solution in overcoming the lack of student activity in learning and the minimal use of learning methods and media that have been carried out so far. After learning has been carried out using the Problem Based Learning model then There was a significant increase in student enthusiasm when compared to learning without using the Problem Based Learning model.

Abstract

Batik Rindani is one of the businesses engaged in the manufacture and sale of Jambi Batik that has been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Sustainable innovation is needed by business actors and Jambi Batik craftsmen. The purpose of this service activity is to provide knowledge about adaptive innovation strategies after Covid-19. The method used was presentation and discussion between the owner of Batik Rindani and the community service team. The results of the community service activities that have been carried out by the team at UMKM Batik Rindani are the addition of knowledge for the owner to innovate both in terms of products and in terms of sales, namely by utilizing social media in promoting and receiving online orders. Product innovation has also been carried out by Batik Rindani not by creating new motifs but also by making jackets, bags, sandals, jeans, and t-shirts with Jambi Batik motifs. The innovation offered by the team is the making of cellphone cases with Jambi Batik motifs.Batik Rindani merupakan salah satu usaha yang bergerak di bidang pembuatan dan penjualan Batik Jambi, yang tidak terlepas dari dampak pandemik Covid-19. Inovasi berkelanjutan sangat dibutuhkan oleh para pelaku usaha dan pengrajin Batik Jambi. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini untuk memberikan pengetahuan mengenai strategi inovasi adaptif pasca Covid-19. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemaparan dan diskusi antara pemilik Batik Rindani dan tim pengabdian. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah penambahan pengetahuan bagi pemilik UMKM untuk berinovasi, baik dari sisi produk maupun dari sisi penjualannya. Dengan memanfaatkan media sosial dalam mempromosikan dan menerima pemesanan secara online. Inovasi produk juga telah dilakukan oleh Batik Rindani tidak dengan membuat motif baru, tetapi juga dengan membuat jaket, tas, sandal, jeans, dan kaos yang bermotif Batik Jambi. Inovasi yang ditawarkan tim adalah pembuatan casing HP bermotif Batik Jambi.

Abstract

The rapidly changing retail landscape and associated changes in consumer preferences have forcing retailers to adopt multi-channel strategies rather than just using one chancellor's solution (Verhoef et al.,2015) As a result, customers engage in shopping behavior cross channels, such as showrooming and webrooming more than ever. Consumer Survey the Annual Global Retail conducted by PwC Indonesia in 2015 revealed that 70% of global consumers collect information online to make purchases offline. Webroomers have a greater perception of saving time, effort for make the right purchases, as well as smart shopping better than showroomers. Unfortunately, most research so far has focused on showrooming spaces (Eriksson & Fagerstrøm, 2019) and there is still very little research using webrooming spaces at the individual level, although this topic is constantly being called for action. Although these variables are valid and enriching, they do not explain everything observed variations in online space usage behavior and more research is needed carry on. The aim of this research is how far the webrooming component affects motivation interest in online shopping in several marketplace choices in Indonesia and how to implement it Webrooming can help marketplaces in Indonesia influence Indonesian people's online shopping motivation. Researchers employ an exploratory research approach, which seeks to gather information, data, and facts on a particular topic or issue. This is done using quantitative methods, with the data being analyzed statistically through the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique, specifically utilizing Partial Least Squares (PLS). The primary data for this study is collected via questionnaires, which are distributed both through Google Forms and in person. The sampling method used is convenience sampling, where individuals encountered by the researcher who are deemed appropriate as data sources and are willing to participate are selected as samples. The sample in this research was marketplace users who had previously done webrooming, so the sample obtained was 188 people. The research findings showed that the motivation variable or shopping intention, the marketplace channel showed significant results on webrooming behavior. The research results show that many consumers use the marketplace to compare prices before deciding to buy a product offline. Research indicates that easily accessible price comparisons on platforms such as Tokopedia and Shopee encourage users to be more careful in making decisions. Access to complete product information and reviews from other users on the marketplace greatly influences consumer decisions. The research also shows differences in marketplace preferences, with some consumers preferring platforms that offer flexible return policies and responsive customer service.

Abstract

Kreativitas harus selalu diupayakan oleh pelaku usaha baik usaha mikro, kecil maupun menengah (UMKM) dalam mewujudkan kesinambungan usaha dan menghadapi kompetitior dunia bisnis. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan di Desa Maro Sebo, Kecamatan Jambi Luar Kota, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Selama hampir 2 (dua) tahun masyarakat telah menghasilkan beberapa produk yang siap di jual, memiliki website desa dengan tujuan memberi informasi kepada masyarakat di luar desa akan keberadaan dan potensi yang ada di desa. Namun mitra masih kurang memahami pengelolaan usaha yang baik dan penciptaan ekonomi kreatif untuk membangun wisata desa. Oleh karenanya melalui kegiatan pengabdian ini, masyarakat diberikan pemahaman tentang manajemen usaha dan ekonomi kreatif untuk membangun wisata desa yang bertujuan agar masyarakat desa dapat memahami serta mengaplikasikan pengembangan destinasi wisata dengan mengelola ekonomi kreatif di desa. Kegiatan ini dimulai dari sosialisasi, FGD, edukasi, pemberdayaan kepada mitra masyarakat, remaja, ibu-ibu pelaku usaha desa Maro Sebo. Masyarakat desa memiliki banyak alasan untuk mempelajari manajemen usaha dan ekonomi kreatif, terutama dalam konteks pariwisata desa karena ke depannya berguna untuk mengembangkan usaha, meningkatkan pendapatan, mengembangkan fasilitas dan potensi desa wisata, peningkatan kualitas hidup masyarakat desa serta pelestarian budaya dan lingkungan.

Abstract

This study aims to give training on TOEFL strategies for English teachers in English Teacher Forum (MGMP). The training is given for English Teacher Forum of junior high school in Jambi city. The training on TOEFL strategies is needed to enhance teachers’ career. This study used training and survey approach. The training was related to the strategies of taking the TOEFL test. It includes the strategies of Listening, Structure, and Reading in TOEFL. The survey used questionnaire to discover participants’ perceptions of the training. The results showed that the training was beneficial for the English teachers of junior high school in English Teacher Forum. They were able to understand TOEFL strategies. For further study, it is recommended to conduct another training of TOEFL with deeper understanding. Hence, it can enhance more knowledge on TOEFL.

Abstract

The role of MSMEs in Indonesia is expected to improve welfare for society by contributing to Gross Domestic Product (GDP). MSMEs in Indonesia have the largest number in ASEAN countries, but the contribution of MSMEs to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is still below other countries with fewer MSMEs. The biggest factor hindering MSMEs in their business is capital problems. Technology-based innovation by distributing profits according to the composition of capital provided is called equity crowdfunding. The level of achievement of financial well-being in a business organization is based on a person's initial goal for doing business which is referred to as business financial orientation. This research answers problems based on existing facts regarding the financial well-being of MSMEs. This type of research is research using quantitative methods, namely by testing the influence of the variables in this research. This research tests the relationship or influence by connecting and providing an explanation of the phenomena related to this research. The measurement method uses Structural Equation Modeling with the use of SmartPLS software data processing tools
