Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of workload and supervisor support on drivers’ work motivation at PT Hikari Express Logistic. The study is motivated by high work demands in distribution activities that may affect drivers’ motivation, while studies examining the simultaneous role of workload and supervisor support among drivers in the logistics sector remain limited. The novelty of this study lies in examining these two factors simultaneously in the context of drivers working in a logistics service company, providing empirical insights into internal and external factors related to work motivation. This study employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative method. The population consisted of 120 drivers, with a sample of 93 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS version 25. The results show that workload has a negative and significant effect on work motivation, while supervisor support has a positive and significant effect on drivers’ work motivation. These findings reinforce the human resource management perspective that work motivation is influenced not only by job demands but also by organizational support through supervisors. Practically, the findings provide consideration for the company in managing workload proportionally and improving supervisor support to enhance drivers’ work motivation.
