This was done as an effort to improve the economy and minimize poverty. This study's location is in the border area of Sambas Regency to be precise in Sajingan Besar District because it is directly adjacent to the neighboring country so that it is a specific area. Still, the city is included in the underdeveloped category. Previous research that has been researched previously examined the importance of having women join CU business institutions using the perspective of women's emancipation in West Kalimantan. There is a novelty in this research, namely, discussing it from deliberative-participatory democracy based on CU at the border in the global economic era. Methods of data collection in this study using interview techniques, observation, and study documentation. Informants were determined using a purposive technique. Based on these techniques, the informants in this study were the Head of the Sajingan Besar sub-district, community leaders, youth leaders, administrators of CU Bonaventura, members of CU Bonaventura, and Chairman of the West Kalimantan Border Forum. The analysis used is using qualitative analysis. The study results found that to minimize poverty that occurs in border area communities, it is necessary to implement democracy based on CU as an effort to improve the community's economy in the era of the global economy by utilizing natural resources. This CU-based deliberative-participatory democracy is proven through deliberation and participation by members who prioritize member empowerment and the political inclusion of CU members.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Sentani Gudgeon Fish (Oxyeleotris heterodon, Weber 1907) from the family Butidae with the general name Sentani Gudgeon is known locally as Gabus Malas and Himen. Sentani Snakehead Fish is one source of animal protein that is very important for the community around Lake Sentani. The population of the Sentani Gudgeon Fish species is at a crucial level. The issue could be affected by environmental pressures, continuous catches, competition with introduced species from outside Papua, intensive predation systems, and imbalances in ecological systems. The condition made a decline in population size until it became extinct. Gudgeon Sentani fish is the main target of catching in the lake. This condition significantly affects stock, size when first captured, population decline, reproductive cycle, and average catch. Until now, data and information on the growth of snakehead fish as the basis for fisheries management in the waters of Lake Sentani are not widely known. Considering the importance of preserving the native species of Lake Sentani, especially the Snakehead Fish, efforts to manage the fisheries in Lake Sentani's waters are urgent. This research was conducted in March - October 2020, located at Lake Sentani. The specimens were obtained from the catch of fishers with various gill nets and chopsticks. Enumerators or field assistants assisted the recording of the number and measurement of the total length of fish caught by fishermen daily. The results of the analysis showed: asymptotic size (L?) 46.20 cm, growth coefficient (K) 0.29, the total mortality rate (Z) 0.80 per year, natural mortality (M) 0.74 per year, the mortality rate due to fishing (F) 0.06 per year and exploitation rate (E) 0.075 per year.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how social media, Twitter @BRGM Indonesia, is used as a communication medium for disseminating information and outreach and environmental campaigns related to peatland restoration and mangrove rehabilitation. This study uses a qualitative research approach with data analysis using the Nvivo 12 Plus software. This type of research data uses secondary data obtained and collected from @BRGM Indonesia’s twitter activity from March 2019 to October 2021, while supporting data is obtained from literature and social media. The research findings show that social media Twitter @BRGM Indonesia in its tweets is dominated by information related to peat restoration rather than mangrove rehabilitation. The findings reinforce that the previous BRGM was a BRG that focused on restoring peat after the great fires in 2015, and was considered to have completed its task in 2020, then added workload to rehabilitate mangroves. But the use of @BRGM Indonesia’s social media Twitter, still needs to be more effective, and the interaction only focuses on government agencies. At the same time, the information contained in the tweets mentioned does not match the contents.

Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic threatens public health alone, therefore most governments in various countries in the world affected by covid-19 take steps in the form of mobility restriction policies to prevent the spread of the virus in the community this also applies in Indonesia. Restrictions on people's mobility make the problems experienced by the community more complex and difficult to control, the number of mass layoffs becomes a trigger for high unemployment in Indonesia. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection is done through an online repository, by filtering keywords in search; criminal acts of trafficking, women migrant workers, protection of migrant workers and handling of trafficking cases in the period of emigrants. Each author is tasked with collecting data based on search keywords. Based on the results of research, the high unemployment rate in the pandemic period became one of the main triggers for the criminal act of trafficking in persons. The situation of female migrant workers working abroad is increasingly complex because some of them are undocumented and some have been over-stayers. There are currently around 6 to 8 million Indonesian migrant workers abroad and the majority of them are women. Cases of human trafficking in the border region during the COVID-19 pandemic increased with economic mode. The closure of cross-border postal access is not effective enough in suppressing cases of trafficking at the country's borders. Various efforts have been made by the Indonesian government ranging from implementing policies to efforts to cooperate with various stakeholders — namely the government as regulators, policy makers, as well as law enforcement, and private parties as business actors / recruiters of labor and banking, as well as civil society institutions that are the driving force – to seek protection for Indonesian migrant workers abroad.
