Abstract

The research on the development of EMBE-R of Learning Strategy Design (ELSD) aims to produce a valid and practical product to prevent student misconceptions in Chemical Equilibrium material. The stages of ESL development and its devices adhere to the Plomp model with three stages, namely 1) Preliminary research stage, 2) Stage of making ELSD prototype (development) and its devices, and 3) Assessment stage. The results of the preliminary research at SMAN 2 Gowa, at South Sulawesi Indonesia, show that students experience misconceptions in the concepts of prerequisites and chemical equilibrium. The development products produced are: 1) ELSD book, 2) Syllabus and RPP, 3) EMBE-R Strategy teacher handbook (BPP), 4) Student Workbook EMBE-R Strategy (BKS), 5) test and non-test assessment. The results of validity tests by experts and practitioners show that the ELSD Books, Syllabus, RPP, BPP, BKS, test, and non-test instruments all show very high levels of validity. The product produced also has very high consistency between validators. The readability test of the device by the user, which is 6 chemistry teachers and 10 students, shows that ELSD and its devices have high readability. The ELSD practicality test results obtained that the DSP EMBE-R stages were carried out as a whole with the activities of students in the high category learning. The response of 35 students and 3 chemistry teachers to the application of DSP EMBE-R and their devices was very good with a percentage of positive responses averaging respectively 94.6 and 100%. Thus, DSP EMBE-R and its devices can be said to be valid and practical to be applied in chemistry learning.
