Abstract

This study aims to analyze teacher strategies in 5th-grade Science learning videos on YouTube to identify best practices that improve learning effectiveness. The study used a qualitative approach with a content analysis method on 20-30 learning videos selected purposively based on criteria of curriculum suitability, time relevance, and source credibility. The results showed that expository strategies were the most dominant strategy used, followed by demonstrations and scaffolding. The use of multimedia such as animation and illustrations proved effective in clarifying abstract concepts. However, the interactivity aspect in the videos was still low because most of the videos were one-way, so active student participation was not optimal. This study concluded that the development of learning videos that combine various pedagogical strategies with interactive elements is necessary to improve the quality of digital learning that is appropriate to student needs and the demands of the Independent Curriculum.
