Abstract

In multicultural school environments, the teacher's ability to internalize religious moderation is essential. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in interpreting and implementing religious moderation, alongside examining student perceptions and the creation of an inclusive school climate. Utilizing a qualitative method with in-depth interviews, observation, purposive sampling, and thematic analysis, the research highlights the significant impact of PAI teachers. The findings conclude that these teachers play a crucial role in modeling attitudes of moderation, such as tolerance toward a pluralistic student body. Furthermore, PAI teachers contribute by facilitating spaces for cross-religious student collaboration. Effective implementation requires strategies tailored to the specific conditions of the students. Ultimately, these efforts are fundamental in establishing an inclusive school climate that respects and values existing diversity.
