Introduction: Oral and dental health among elementary school children remains a significant public health issue, particularly due to the high prevalence of dental caries associated with low levels of knowledge and inadequate toothbrushing skills. This condition may negatively affect children’s health, comfort, and academic performance. Therefore, early promotive and preventive efforts through community service activities are essential. Methods: This community service activity was conducted among 27 first-grade students (class 1C) at SD Negeri 01 Papahan. The methods included dental examinations (early detection of caries), oral health education, demonstrations, and direct practice of proper toothbrushing techniques. Evaluation was carried out through observation of students’ understanding and skills after the intervention. Results: The results showed that all students were 7 years old, with a relatively balanced gender distribution. A total of 6 students (22.2%) had dental caries, while 21 students (77.8%) were caries-free. After receiving education and demonstrations, most students demonstrated improved understanding of the importance of oral hygiene and showed better toothbrushing skills using correct techniques. Discussion: This activity indicates that education based on demonstration and hands-on practice is effective in improving students’ knowledge and skills. Promotive and preventive approaches through early caries detection and oral health education should be continuously implemented with support from schools and families. Conclusion, this community service activity plays an important role in fostering clean and healthy behaviors from an early age and has the potential to reduce the incidence of dental caries among elementary school children.
