Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has reshaped various sectors, including libraries, which face new challenges and opportunities. This study aims to analyze the impact of AI implementation on the role of librarians in the digital era. Through literature review and case analysis, this research identifies significant changes in the tasks and responsibilities of librarians due to AI integration. The findings indicate that AI can automate routine tasks, such as cataloging, information retrieval, and collection management, allowing librarians to focus more on creative and strategic tasks, such as program development and user interaction. However, there are concerns about the potential replacement of librarians by AI. This study concludes that while the role of librarians will undergo significant transformation, they will remain relevant. Future librarians need to develop expertise in information technology, data analysis, and AI-based service development to provide greater added value to library users.

Abstract

Backgroud: KapanLagi Youniverse (KLY) is an information institution and online media company that manages ten types of media with diverse segmentation. In this context, information management becomes crucial, especially considering that KLY has millions of users every day. One of the primary data sources is information about pageviews obtained through Google Analytics from all the websites managed. With pageviews reaching trillions, the management and distribution of data to stakeholders is essential. Purpose: This article aims to ensure that the data team managers at KLY can make informed decisions and provide valuable insights based on the available and accurate data for their users. To facilitate the management of large and complex data, the implementation of business intelligence is critical, with Tableau Server being used as a visualization tool for pageview data. This article discusses how optimizing the use of Tableau Server can enhance the effectiveness of data management and visualization at KapanLagi Youniverse, as well as its impact on better decision-making. Methods: This research employs a mixed approach that combines qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate the use of Tableau Server in managing the visualization of pageview data. Results: The findings indicate that Tableau has proven effective in conducting in-depth data analysis, allowing for interactive exploration and the identification of patterns that are difficult to uncover through traditional methods, thereby supporting more informed and timely decision-making strategies.

Abstract

Purpose. Digital transformation accelerated by advances in artificial intelligence (AI) has changed the way students explore and evaluate information, especially in the early stages of digital literacy. This study aims to analyse the information literacy practices of students of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) and the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang in the context of Digital Humanities, focusing on the use of AI-based tools in the search, discovery and evaluation of information sources. Methodology. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive-comparative design. The sample consisted of 245 FAH and FST students of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, who were purposively selected. Data were collected through a five-point Likert questionnaire and analysed using SPSS version 26 with descriptive and Chi-Square tests. The validity and reliability of the instruments were tested, with Cronbach's Alpha >0.80. Results and discussion. The findings indicate that the majority of respondents routinely use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Google Bard, Gemini, and Perplexity for initiating information searches. AI is considered highly useful for initial reference discovery, expanding exploration scopes, and distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant sources. However, doubts remain among students regarding AI's effectiveness in assessing source credibility. These results underscore the need to integrate critical thinking approaches into AI-based digital literacy education in Islamic higher education institutions. Conclusions. This study contributes to the Digital Humanities discourse by offering an initial mapping of students' interaction patterns with AI in the digital information literacy landscape.
